The stakes are higher this time around. More to lose. Kirill is now in the middle of two wars trying to figure out how to stay alive and get down to business.

Nico plays a bigger part in the events playing out before our eyes It's hard to tell what team he is playing on and whether is he good or bad in your corner or only worried about watching his own back.

As events played out Nico became even more of a mystery but, Sofia had some insight into the man that made the man even more interesting and a worthy adversary. Still trying to figure the man out but, we are going out on a limb thinking there just might be a kink in the man's armor that the man's heart may not be filled with total darkness and he may even have a soft spot for helpless woman.

Time to pay the piper as they say. Kirill and Molly's story continues to be on the same path as book one but, the stakes became higher there is more to lose this time around but, if Kirill must sacrifice his life for the woman he loves we with do it gladly.

Loved Molly's character she was witty and mouthy and had a backbone and even a sense of humor but, she was also protective and possessive of Kirill as he was with her. The woman never seemed to run from danger. We liked her a lot and what a firecracker she was!

Loved this messy love story that was tragic and dark. Kirill was a character that was the pantie-melting kind.  Fighting from being caught in his web is impossible.

Swoon-worthy character and a monster worth loving?

Loved the ending and the surprises it brought they were expected and ones we did not see coming and they are the best kind. The story continued to be edgy and dark and suspenseful and we absolutely loved it. We will be seeing more of these characters no doubt and can't wait for Nikolai's story. I hope what happened to Nico was part of the plan if not you have not seen half of what Nikolai is even capable of next time around.
