Which, sadly, was the case for me.

Did I know that I did wrong? Hell yes.

Did I regret that? Hell no.

Did I plan on changing a thing? Also, no.

Was I falling in love with a man that should scare the shit out of me? A resounding hell yes.

Really love this one, the characters superb. Loved Wake and Dutch as a couple perfect for one another.

Dutch was a surprise and we loved her instantly. Dutch continued to surprise us throughout the entire story, every time you think you had her figured out she surprised you yet again.

Wake the sexy and protective man who had a sense of humor, was lovable and an all around nice guy who made questionable choices that landed him in prison but, he did what he did for the greater good. Love his interactions with Dutch, his daughter and his friends, he was loved by everyone except the Sheriff with an axe to grind.

Dutch and Wake had awesome chemistry that lead to a lot of hot and sexy moments, let's just say Dutch was one lucky man...

Overall, a great read for us that we loved cover to cover that had the perfect ending for this couple. Great start to a brand-new series, as we already found the cast of characters interesting. The plot was interesting, especially trying to get to the bottom of why Sheriff Graydon hatred was so fierce for more than a few characters, and we loved the whipping surprise we did not see coming. Lani always manages to make us and fall in love with her characters, and we did just that.
