The story had wonderful characters, loved them all, even the dark ones. Loved Dr. Brennan but, we have to say Johnny was our favorite, that man was intense, dominate in nature, has a dark aura that surrounds him and is a good old bad boy right down to his bones.
The story has a lot going on and the picture it's painting in my belief is just smoke and mirrors and something more is going on that we are not privy to yet but, with little bread crumbs being left behind, something is starting to make a lot of sense. Love stories like this that always keep you guessing.
The romance was hot and sexy and downright dirty. Becca and Johnny's chemistry off the charts. This couple sizzle and light up a room. Johnny is definitely dark and dangerous and seems a bit unhinged at times but, he focused and smart and calculated and knows how to play the game. The question is how much is real, and how much is an act? Johnny knows just how to push Becca's buttons and have her rise to the challenge but, she is not the type to back down, she is his match in every day.
This was one heart pounding read from beginning to end, and we can honestly say that this story has moved up into our top slots for favorites for 2022. We loved it and can't wait to see what happens next. We cannot recommend this author enough if you haven't read her books you're missing out, she has become one of my top favorite authors for 2022 right along with Serena Akeroyd.
