Just a scared kid.
The moment my big sister took me away from the club, it sealed my fate as a burden.
As the son of a president for the Houston Defiance MC, I was born into power. I’m destined to lead. My father and older brother before me, I should follow in their footsteps. But they don’t see me that way.
The only path to keep me safe is to ship me off.
To live a life they have chosen for me.
Doesn’t matter what I want.
Behind the ivy-covered walls of Stonewall are mysteries, lies, deception.
I want to uncover it all.
The sting of secrets is to be revealed.
One thing I wasn’t counting on was Thayleah, a fellow student who takes my breath away the second I see her.
But she’s tied to another club.
When enemies come in all forms, you need to keep your eyes open.
But I didn’t see this coming!
From USA Today Bestselling Authors K E Osborn and Addison Jane, comes the highly-anticipated seventh book in the Houston Defiance MC Series. Part of this book was previously released in The Elites Anthology 2021.
I am going to start off by saying that we had mixed feelings about this story, we still enjoyed it but, Koda and Thayleah didn't act responsibly when it came to their individual decision-making for instance when the Defiance MC was threatened right then in their Koda should have put the club on notice. And Thayleah you to when Shotgun's family was threatened. Koda this whole time kept saying that he did not want Zero or the club looking at him as a kid, and it was something he was constantly fighting against. Yet his actions spoke volumes, and his choices were the wrong ones because yes it was his problem to handle but, once Defiance was brought into the picture it was no longer his problem alone not only that he is supposed to be in line for the Presidency? Koda's actions and deeds were not those of a would be president, putting club and family first. Yeah, I know the book is fiction, right? We won't even go on about what Thayleah did because now she put the lives of two clubs on the line and not just one. Moving on but, on the other hand, we have to admire both of them for wanting to protect their loved ones like they would them at all cost and willing to give their lives just to protect the ones they love.
We loved Thayleah and Koda as a couple they were perfect with one another, and we loved that both came from clubs so that gave them a lot to start with and something in common to going forward. They just worked, and they made it look easy. Our heart went out to Thayleah for all she had endured and even to this day is still coping but, we saw fire in her.
The story started off with a bang and kept you engrossed in the pages to the very end. We really are enjoying this series and its characters, and with this one we really loved all the characters except the sinister ones. Brady, our heart went out to you too because of that monster you lived with, hope that man ends up in hell.
Overall, an enjoyable plot that touches on subjects people don't like to talk about or think about, and the plot was riddled with them. There are always sheep in wolves clothing, and this stories plot just reminded us of that.
P.S. A personal observation from the reader and a few thoughts and comments. One is that what Koda experienced at school is very real and very prevalent in today's society, they are ingrained in these big universities that are prestigious and most times these secret societies are run by the Freemasons which within their religion there are multiple levels the higher the level the more sinister they are that involve human sacrifice and worshiping Lucifer. Also, Tinsley's situation is not uncommon, and these societies prey on people in her type of situation. They fall victims to the deviant, and evil people. Want to learn more about secret societies, do some research using duckduckkgo. If you have ever seen the Skull and Bones TV miniseries starring Paul Walker & Joshua Jackson (not all of that movie was fiction aka remember the show and tell part) maybe not the one depicted in the movie but, these secret societies are more common than you can ever imagine. These people who are part of those societies become government officials, doctors, lawyers, movie stars judges, law enforcement etc and are at the highest levels within companies and firms. These people are evil and greedy, and they will do what ever it takes to protect their secrets and hold their positions. And they run rampant among the sports figures. From what I have learned from research at how these societies work they have to tell you and show you, and it is right in plain sight, you just never see it. The Skull and Bones miniseries is the perfect example of the show and tell it's required and a part of their religion and if you decide to research here is yet another example the movie Eyes Wide Shut with Nicole Kidman perfect example of what happens within these secret societies and that movie was based yet again on how they practice their religion and what is involved.

He knows when to be gentle and when to push me.And while my first instinct is generally to push back—it’s the comfort and trust I feel with him that eventually has me giving in.Koda is unlike any young guy I’ve ever met. Most guys our age are young, dumb, and…He’s calm, he is intuitive, and he can read people. How his family still thinks he needs time to grow before he can take his place in the club, it absolutely blows my mind. He has the skills, the personality, and most importantly, the love for his family and his brothers—it’s so obvious in the way he speaks about them despite how they seem to have sent him away like he’s not worthy.I feel that itch at my skin, my fingers tightening on his leather jacket at the thought of anyone not realizing just how fucking amazing Koda is. I want them to see what I see and watch him prove them wrong. I know sending him to Stonewall was done out of love. It was a move they thought needed to happen to keep him safe and protected. But anyone can see his heart isn’t here. And I’m hoping he might see that soon too.
