This was a beautifully written story, the story was full of drama from beginning to end of the story and also full of a ton of suspense with a cast of really great characters.
"This woman was my beginning, my middle, and my end. She was my whole life."
Grace was strong and beautiful and a survivor, also clever and a wonderful mother, and no longer the naive little girl who married a dark and dangerous mobster. We loved her sass and fire. Grace has suffered hurtle after hurdle and our heart went out to her for the pain and suffering she had to endure when the ones who were supposed to protecting her were thieving, lying and turning their backs on her and capable of the most unspeakable things.
Luciano was the dark and dangerous man who is blinded so much by revenge he is throwing away the one bright light in his life and too blinded to see what is right in front of his face. His wife is his kryptonite, he is possessive and protective of her, and their chemistry together is off the charts. Determined to wind the woman he has obsessively loved will not be an easy feat but, he was up to the challenge, and we were cheering him on.
The story plot was serious and dangerous and full of betrayals. We loved Grace and Ella together they made an awesome team and clearly had each other's backs time and time again like ride and die together type of relationship. Little Matteo, you melted our heart.
Overall, we loved the story and the danger that lurked around every corner. We loved Luciano and Grace as a couple no matter how rocky their marriage started out and continued to be, they truly loved each other even living years apart. This couple were fated for one another, and it was a shame that revenge got in the way of their happiness for a bit but, like good old dad said, it's time to clean house.
For us, this story was a page turner, and we could not put it down. Ms. Winner has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Love her Mafia stories, they all have tons of romance and suspense and drama, hot and sexy scenes with couples that have awesome chemistry with a cast of lovable characters that you can't help but, fall in love with each and every time.
