Tucked away deep in the hills of Dubna lives a man hiding from a past that’s as grisly as the scar on his face. Reclusive. Paranoid. Violent. His trek to the top has been a bloody game—with a deadly end for anyone who loses.
And it’s not over yet.
Vera Avdonin stumbled into the life of Vaslav Pashkov entirely by accident, and it should have stopped there, too. Just a broken ballerina who helped a beautifully tortured stranger.
But she’ll soon learn that like the mafiya he controls, once he brings you in, there is no way out.
They don’t call him The Beast of Moscow for nothing.

The Beast of Moscow is a slow burn, contemporary romance saga told over the course of several parts and encompassing more than one generation from start to finish. Only part of this is a love story; everything else hurts. TBOM—taking readers from Moscow to Paris while peeling back the beginning layers of Vaslav Pashkov—is part one.

I had mixed feelings about this story but, in the end, I ended up loving it. The characters were so awesome, it was hard to not love them. I will say though as much as I love reading Bethany Kris's stories as she is one of my top favorites I am getting tired of all the cliffhangers because I hate them so much and because this story had me so intrigued I did not want to put it down. I loved that without even knowing why, this couple had gravitated toward one another and saw something in one another that others had missed, and that it was the one thing that made that person intriguing for one another. A mystery to solve... Vera instantly knew she liked the brooding, dangerous man even without knowing him. Vera was a sweetheart and for a woman who grew up in such a dangerous world there was still something still untouched and innocent about her, meaning her emotions and outlook on life. I loved that about her the most.
Vaslav- It was hard not to find the brooding and dangerous man exciting even though he was down right scary and dangerous yet, sinful in all the ways that count in a panty melting way.
My take on things if anyone can get beneath that armor that Vaslav wears it would be Vera just by being herself because there is no pretending with her, she is feisty and brave and independent, and she will not be a doormat for no man she may crave the dominance in the bedroom but, she will not have it out of it. She has lived with men her whole life as dangerous as Vaslav and not afraid of the man, and she should be. This man is deadly! Vaslav is a big a-hole in every way and arrogant and cold and calculating but, you can't help but, be attracted to the man and his dark brooding looks knowing he would be sinful and bed and give you everything you crave but, are the risks worth it to you and your heart?
Can't wait to see if Vera caves, or will she give the beast a run for his money? Our belief is, she needs to win that cold and calculated heart of his before anything else to have some bargaining power to tame the beast. What of her family? Now things are about to get complicated and heat up next time around as Vera is a very treasured mafia princess after all, coming from a very powerful family in their own right and is loved by all it will be interesting to say the least what happens next!
