SYNOPSIS:
Criminal. Spoiled. Entirely out of control.
Roman Avdonin has heard it all. None of it stops him from crossing the line one more time. Sent to Chicago to answer for his wrongs, he’s an outsider beneath the cruel gazes of men who are nothing like his own. He should have minded his business and paid his dues—a better man would.
But then he laid eyes on her.
Karine Yazov.
She’s forbidden—already promised.
Fragile in every way.
And he just can’t help himself.
Agreements like these?
They can’t be undone.

The Agreement is book 1 in The Darkest Lies Trilogy. It is a standalone trilogy; the books should be read in order.
We loved this brand-new series, and we will admit for the first time ever we were contemplating if we were going to love these characters but, as always Bk won us over with her amazing writing skills.
Roman at first meeting him we were like what a loser just another spoiled prince but, he proved us wrong and turned out to be something of a knight dressed in all black who lives in a dark and dangerous world and one who is more than capable of protecting Karine from those monsters who want to harm her.
We loved the story that left us with so many unanswered questions. We loved that Karine was a complicated character as we have never encountered a character like her before and that was really a refreshing turn of events. Our heart went out to that girl for all that she endured and continues to endure due to do to those monsters who control her life day in and out that poor tortured soul.
Roman to was running from his own demons so these two tortured souls might just turn out to be their savior for one another. Book one off to a great start. The story was the perfect mix of good versus evil filled with a ton of drama and a cast of awesome characters.

SYNOPSIS
Roman Avdonin has always lived life on the edge of reason—hiding an unstable woman while officials knock down his family’s door and a mafia war brews really doesn’t seem that crazy, all things considered.
But everything about Karine Yazov is a beautiful, dangerous lie. And they’ve not even learned the worst of it.
All she knows is how to survive, and put into the hands of a man who seems like her wildest dreams, why would she fight? His stare lights her on fire, he gives her the safety she craves, and Karine can’t stop herself from falling …
Even if she knows the monster chasing her will never let her go.
Promises like his shouldn’t be broken, but secrets like hers could get them all killed.

The Promise is book 2 in The Darkest Lies Trilogy. The Trilogy is standalone; the books should be read in order.
Book two turned out to be one complicated tale. The drama intensified and became more dangerous than ever before.
We loved Karine and Roman as a couple their chemistry off the charts and no matter the complication when it came to Karine they made the perfect couple and the most important thing was that Karine felt safe for the first time ever.
Overall we loved the second book in this series that was about healing and hope infused with yet another mystery to solve and more than a few of surprises. We started getting the answers to the questions that we seek but, not all of them. Talk about one complicated plot things really heated up this time around and love seemed to flourish no matter the current circumstances.

Bethany-Kris, author of The Russian Guns, invites readers back to the world with The Marriage–Book 3 in The Darkest Lies Trilogy. A standalone trilogy following the same couple.
Book three and the conclusion of this story was filled with heart and soul. My heart broke for this couple and for Roman and the choices he was forced to make on the behalf of his wife. Karine's pain tore at our heart for the pain she was going through even though that pain actually came from a place of love not punishment or desertion. We loved seeing Roman being just as affected by their separation as Karine was but, not to the point it went but, thank heavens he had the love of a good family and a great friend who was always there to give him a good kick in the a--.
The chemistry between Roman and Karine was off the charts and there were tons of hot and sexy scenes that just enforced that they were perfect for one another. We loved that Roman was drawn to Karines imperfections and in doing so new his life would never be a smooth sailing one and that was just okay with him.
Overall we loved the conclusion to this very mess story. This was one tale that had tons of drama and this conclusion came with an ending we never saw coming but, one that was right and just.
We have to also give props to Roman parents Deyman and Claire because no matter their sons faults they loved him with everything they had. Deyman and Claire reminded me a lot of the Marcello and Guzzi families in the fact that the norm was drilled into them family first meaning the mafia/brava families but, it was just the opposite for these dark and dangerous men it was their family first not matter the repercussions.
We loved the ending of this story as it was one that we did not see coming. This story was an emotional one an as a reader it was hard not to be affected by and one that had me tearing up a time or two. Another series and its characters that will not be forgotten and one that goes into the keeper pile to be re-read time and time again what an awesome tale.
