Don't mess with the Kings of Vengeance...
I may not have been raised on the right side of the tracks, but there are two things in life you never mess with: women and children.
With the world of the Kings going crazy, the overwhelming urge to keep Queenie safe is just as strong as the need to find Gunner.
Anyone who threatens the Kings or what I’ve claimed as my own better pray I never find them.
Vengeance is coming.
Sledge & Queenie
Where to start with my thoughts? hum....
I loved the characters and the story itself. The characters were easy to love and connect with. I loved Queenie's Independence and drive to take care of her nephew and my heart went out to her time and time again for the pain she was in both physical and heart. The story in itself tugged at the reader's emotions more than once it was hard not to get choked up about things the characters were going through and feeling.
Sledge we loved his patience and kindness and we loved how he looked after Queenie and took care of her even when she was doing everything to push him away and her stubbornness was affecting her health he was always looking after her and was always there. He touched our hearts!
We loved all the love and support she had from the brothers of their club and their old ladies and we loved how the old ladies were all acting like mother hens. Super Sweet!
Overall we love the romance part of the story and being on Sledge and Queenie's adventure of falling in love with and both characters we absolutely loved. But, for me, the overall story was downright boring because it lacked heat adventure and the craziness that her books are known for. There were no surprises and every move predictable and I found it hard to keep interested. But, with that being said I loved that there were parts of the story that were emotional and how it engaged the emotions of the reader because living with an addict is not an easy thing you have a love and hate relationship with them which the author showed us but at the end of the day love won out but, it also showed the damage that is done to the other person on the other side of the coin and it was hard not to feel for Queenie and her constant trials to stay strong for all of them.
So as you can see I loved some parts of the story and others not so much but, if an author can still engage my emotions in a story and have characters that you can't help but fall in love with its still a win in my book.
