The Insurgents MC series are standalone romance novels. This is Shadow’s story. This book contains violence, abuse, strong language, and steamy/graphic sexual scenes. It describes the life and actions of an outlaw motorcycle club. HEA. No cliffhangers.

Let's start off by saying that the more we read by Chiah Wilder the more we fall in love with her books and characters. The story was pretty much about about how opposites attract. Scarlett may come from money but, she is not like all the other rich princesses as she feels like she is in prison all the time.

Shadow was feeling unsettled for some time and meeting a women he can't seem to stop thinking about is about to change all that.

I loved Scarlett from the onset of the story as she was beautiful and funny and had this really big heart but, she was tired of pleasing everyone but herself and Shadow turns out to be the one indulgence she can't seem to live without.

Shadow- I loved the sexy biker as he was funny and seductive but, once he stops fighting his feelings for Scarlett nothing will get in his way from keeping her even if he's already decided that he doesn't deserve her. Scarlett's family is powerful and ruthless and has ever ending funds but, this does not sway the man in the least.

Overall we loved this story from cover to cover and everything in between the chemistry between these to characters was off the charts and their sexual encounters hotter than hell.There is so much to the story like secrets and lies and a big whopping revelation for these things alone it made the story all the more engrossing.As always we loved being revisited and getting reacquainted with all our favorite characters.We just love this series and are so looking forward to reading the next one in its series.

He grabbed her face between his hands and tilted her face up toward him.

“I should just take off,” she said.

“But you won’t.”

“I don’t know why I let you talk to me like this.” 

He quirked his lips. “Don’t you? It’s called, lust, baby.”

A heated flush crept up her neck and spread across her cheeks. She tried to pull away, but he pressed his thumbs against her cheeks, and she’d be damned if she told him it hurt. 

“You’re just—”

He let go of her face and pushed her against the wall of the restaurant with the length of his body. “Say it, baby.” Grabbing her by the hips, he yanked her flush against his body. “I’m common as fuckin’ dirt, and you love it.” He crushed his mouth on hers.

Her mouth opened, letting him in, tasting the smokiness of whiskey on his tongue. She moaned and ran her hands down his back as his ran under her skirt. It had been too long since they’d kissed, and she loved the wet tangle of tongues and the hard edge of his teeth on his lower lip.

He pulled away a bit and muttered, “Fuck, babe” before he pressed his mouth back on hers. Heat flared at every pulse point, burning like a wildfire when he ground against her, his dick rock hard through his jeans.

“Let’s go somewhere,” he whispered as he trailed light kisses along her jawline then down her neck. “Fuck, baby … you make me so damn hard.” His warm fingers slid to the lace edge of her panties. 

At that moment, Scarlett pushed him away and scrambled away from his reach. Bewilderment skated across his face as he watched her walk away.

“What the fuck?” he gritted.

Pausing, she turned slightly and her lips turned up as she locked her gaze on his. 

“Don’t ever take me for granted, baby.” Scarlett licked her lips, tossed her hair over her shoulders and walked away as every part of her body pulsed with desire.

How am I ever going to get him out of my system?

 

Chiah Wilder writes about rough, sexy men who know how to treat their women. Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories. Figuring she had to grow up and get a “real” job, her writing was placed on the back burner. Her love of reading has always been center front in her life.
