WITHIN A CAPTAIN’S SOUL
Captains of the Scarlet Night #5
by Lisa A. Olech

Genre: Historical Romance

Pub Date: 8/1/2017

Stormy seas, a captive heart, and a coupling that breaks all the rules . . .
After years of committed service, Captain William “Bump” Quinn has finally taken the helm of the pirate ship Scarlet Night. But when rough waters send the Night off course, William winds up shipwrecked and alone on enemy shores—and prisoner to China’s most powerful pirate queen.
Captain Jian Jun is as alluring as she is formidable, and she’s careful not to let anyone too close. But the silence of the handsome Jamaican pirate in her custody intrigues her. Tempted by his topaz eyes and the strength of his character, she allows the captive into her inner sanctum. Though their bond defies all convention, Jun finds she is powerless against the emotions Will stirs in her. She prays their first union will not be her last. But with danger lurking in unexpected places, her beloved pirate may soon get the chance to prove he is every inch the hero he seems in her arms . . .

Loved seeing Will back in action again but, I thought his story would be more intriguing than it was.For me this is really a hard review to write as I was not crazy about the story and I thought is was so boring that I struggled to get through it.

I am however happy that he found someone to love and be loved in return as his life was not an easy one.I do however feel that he found his perfect mate.I did like how she didn't see his deafness as a deterrent to not get involved with him.

Their sexual encounters we sweet and loving something both needed from one another. Two lonely souls that need a connection. They really were a sweet couple together before all hell broke loose.

This was just an okay read  for me.I just found it to be really boring and I myself need more excitement and intrigue to keep my interest.I so loved the the book before this that I was so looking forward to this one and it was kind of a let down after the last one for me anyway.

That being said there were certain parts of the story that I did like so for me it was not a total loss. I did not connect with this cast of characters and when that happens for me anyway I struggle through a story.Although I liked the characters I didn't love them.

Just not my cup of tea but we can't love them all.
