SYNOPSIS
The system created to serve and protect failed him. The domino effect of one person's crime going unpunished has no boundaries. He's no saint. Bladen 'Judge' Jones rides to escape the firm hand of his past. When home is a nightmare, the unknown suddenly isn't so frightening. Riding with his brothers, the Devil's Due MC, is more support than he has ever had in his lifetime. She's not afraid to call herself a sinner. Tamalyn Andrews is a master mixer, hiding out in a small town hick bar on the outskirts of a town for nobodies. Looking over her shoulder is something she can't stop herself from doing. Old habits die hard. However, danger bellies up to her bar. Will Bladen face his own past to uncover Tamalyn's secrets? When everything crashes around her, will Tamalyn open up to Bladen in time to save her life? Love, hate, anger, and passion collide as the time comes, and the devil demands his due.
I have to start off by saying that we have really enjoyed this series so far and its characters.
Bladen and Tamalyn have shared a past. They grew up together and both of their fathers were horrible parents and crooked cops. They were separated to keep Tamalyn safe but now the time has come to make things right and stop the hiding and running and finally be together.
I love this kind of story when love stands the test of time.It amazed me that either one even survived childhood with the sick parents they both had.As children they spoke out of the wrong doings yet in this instance the law worked against the innocence as the police covered the misdeeds for the crooked cops so they had no choice but run and hide.
What a heart wrenching story as Tamalyn has never had a moments peace constantly looking over her shoulder living in disguise had to be stressing and lonely never being able to make friends or allow anyone to get close.Your heart broke for her as she was such a sweet and innocent girl. She deserved happiness not pain and suffering.
I loved Tamalyn as she was sweet, kind, resourceful, cared about others.I loved how the tragedies of her past never got the best of her and did not truly changed the sweet and caring person she was already was. Bladen on the other hand was a force to be reckoned with.He is dangerous as well as handsome and is going to finally claim what is his.
This story kept you glued to the pages and the plot was more about just seeking revenge and freeing the innocent. Tamalyn has risked her own life by not sitting back and helping her bosses son who has gotten himself way over his head. The plot just got more intriguing and more dangerous.I love a story about second chances and couples who have to let go of the past and learn to trust and love again and this story was the perfect example of that.
Overall we loved the sense of humor and personalties that the other characters brought to the story it just made the story more engaging.I love when you can connect with the characters you read about and we were able to do that with these main characters.I love when that happens as you are rooting for their happiness through the entire story.I also love how the MC members continue to grace each and every book as they all have a similar past that makes them even more lovable.
One thing to point out about this story and the ones in this series is that that main characters already have a past together and are already connected so when these men decide to claim what they consider theirs they are men of action there is no wooing involved they just take whats theirs. This in my book makes these men even hotter yet!
Another keeper and a recommended read to all MC lovers and the series as well.
