Blurb

Xander Evans has been on the road for many years. Never settling. Always moving from one place to another, unable to let go of his past. He lived a tragic childhood, spending most of those years in foster care. He's never felt like he's had a home. That is until he stops in the small town of Truman Valley, Missouri, where he meets a woman who will change everything he's ever known.

Paige Watson has it all. A loving family, beautiful home, and a great career. The only thing she's missing....is love. After escaping an abusive relationship, she opens her heart up to a stranger. He is unlike any man she's ever met. He came into her life and turned it completely upside down. Everything is perfect. That is, until one fateful night.
A night that would tear the Watson family apart, never to be put back together again.
A night that would send Xander away to prison for life.

Our Review

How to even begin - this is the 1st book I have read by author BT Urruela and I am so glad that I did. What an absolutely phenomenal book.

I was drawn into the story from the very beginning. BT grabs you during the prologue introducing you to Xander a rough guy who has really had a tough life and is trying to find something, anything better. The alpha male, but not the "jerk" male. He is gritty, rough, and sexy all wrapped up in one. He has done things, things that torture him in his dreams, you want to wrap your arms around him and take away those nightmares.

Paige has had a pretty good life, horribly abusive ex-boyfriend, but she is finally away from him and living with her parents, working with her mom and enjoying her best friend Brandi. And trying to make a life for herself.

When Xander stops at a bar after a long day's ride he isn't looking for trouble, just a cold beer. In walks Paige and her father, and before Xander knows it his "Alpha male" side has to come out after a really nasty local decides to make grab ass with Paige. It doesn't talke long and Xander and Paige begin a roller coaster of a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, grasping the railing because you just know the next drop is coming. And when it does BT sucks you in, spins you around, trying to catch your breath before throwing you into the next curve and down the next drop off.

The chemistry between Xander and Paige is noticeable from the start and grows throughout the story. Xander, the hardened wanderer, whose has kept his heart behind a wall so thick and deep with secrets, couldn't ever see a way out. But slowly his heart begins to soften, and that wall begins to crumble. But the more it softens, the more the wall crumbles, the more trouble comes his way. My heart ached for Xander so many times throughout this story. Paige, always trying to get to know him more, and get him to open up, may just be the one woman who can break through that wall.

BT has done an amazing job weaving a spell binding story that kept me up late at night, yawning at work and waiting for my next break so I could get another fix of Xander and Paige. This is also the first time I have read a "guy's" writing of a sex scene and I have to tell you BT does not disappoint in this department. He is going to leave you wanting more.

I finished the book at work, I recommend having tissue handy people. We romance readers always love those HEA's. Well there is a HEA in this book, but its not your typical and you will be left wanting more, there will be more and I can't wait. Xander and Paige's story isn't finished. There is so much more out there for them and I can't wait to see what BT brings in the next book.

And I can't wait for more of characters Irish and Twitch. Oh wow that Twitch is a character and will have you laughing.
