She's gonna rock his world...
Danny Ayres has always lived his life on his terms. As a marketing exec for a big-time record label, he never had to look far for a willing fling, and rarely gave repeat performances. When he falls for a once-in-a-lifetime woman, he knows that even he can't negotiate out of this deal. But when in the same week he loses his job and his proposal falls flat, he starts to wonder if he's lost his touch.
Hannah Mercury has always found comfort in the straightforward procedures of civil service, and has organized her suburban life to high standards. Recently estranged from her husband and vulnerable from a careless indiscretion, she knows it's wise to keep Danny at arms' length.
During a chance meeting at lunch, Danny strikes up a conversation with Hannah, and the two forge an unlikely friendship. But after a brief and unexpected encounter takes the two beyond the platonic and into the erotic, Hannah realizes just why Danny's only been successful at one-night stands. She makes a proposition to teach him, in way he never dreamed possible, what it takes to REALLY satisfy a woman sexually and win back his dream girl.
But can they satisfy their carnal desires without losing control of their hearts?

excerpt

“Wanna go to lunch again?” she asked. Trying to keep his cool, Danny rolled back in his office chair. “On a Monday?” Hannah laughed. “Come on, I’ve been waiting all weekend to see you.”
Danny tried to be as aloof as possible. “Okay, but it can’t take long.”
“We can pick one of the quickie spots in the Arts District,” resolved Hannah. “Besides, parking is free on that side of Downtown. See you at noon?”
Danny smiled at how determined she was. “Nooners it is.”
“No, sweetie—just lunch,” she said, and winked. He laughed. She sure did have a bit of the devil in her. It made her almost irresistible.
She was cool the whole way there. Not once did they talk about what happened last Friday at the bar—and after. Danny was starting to feel so at ease that he let his guard down. They talked about the final steps of getting the fire station built, and of some of Danny’s plans for marketing the Grand Opening. It was like old times, and Danny wondered whether Hannah had realized how far they’d gotten and decided to pull back, too.
Once they got to the Arts District and found parking, though, she turned toward him, placing her hand on his thigh. “I thought about you all weekend,” she said as she caressed it.
Danny laughed. “That’s no fun.”
Hannah let her hand move up. “Oh, but it was, Danny. I touched myself and thought of you. Of all the things I want you to do to me. I can’t come anymore without thinking of you.” She cupped his growing erection, and leaned over to kiss his neck.
“I’ve imagined doing a lot more to you, too. Many times.” He let her continue to kiss and bite his neck. “I wish we could run away together, just ditch work one day.”
Hannah took a break from her nibbling. “We could, you know. Just call me before I get off the train, and instead of taking the red line to work I’ll take it to Hollywood, and we can have a fun day together.” She settled back in the passenger seat. “Oh, Danny, why don’t we?”
He looked at her regrettably. “Come on, Hannah. You remember our deal. We can’t let this thing we have get in the way of our lives, and that includes our jobs. Our goals for success.”
She looked at him. “And then there’s that girl…”
“Akie,” he said. It felt awkward to say her name at that moment. Hannah hesitated. “I’m sorry, Hannah—I think maybe that was insensitive.”
“No—it’s just that…”
Danny raised an eyebrow. “Just that what?”
Hannah took a deep breath before speaking. “What if I could guarantee you that the next time you see Akie, she will never want to leave again?”

Angels with Attitude - Author Interview
Desires Anthem by Samantha Egret

What would you have done differently if you were the main character of your book?

In Desire’s Anthem, Hannah gets heavily involved with her co-worker and friend, Danny. She resolves to teach him how to please a woman, sexually, so he can win the girl of his dreams. I don’t think I’d ever offer anything like that, because I know I would never be able to keep my heart out of the equation.

What was your inspiration behind this book?

Life.

Why did you become a writer?

I want to tell stories that speak truth to women. My goal through writing and sharing stories that show women’s deepest desires is to encourage women not only to assert themselves sexually, but to truly believe that they themselves are worthy sources of desire.  A woman that not only embraces her sexuality but also knows she can BE the fantasy emanates a power and a confidence that is truly a force with which to be reckoned.

Do you have a favorite author or authors?

I think Kate Chopin was so far ahead of her time with The Awakening. It’s telling that so many people still don’t get that novel or the desperation in the archetypical “married woman” it seeks to uncover.

Do you like to write your books in a continuing series?

This is my first novel, but I don’t think I’ll do a series. I have other characters I’d like to explore.

If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why?

Danny, of course! He’s a cad, but he’s a sweet, sexy, and funny one.

What kinds of books do you like to read in your spare time?

I’ve been reading a lot about Divine Mother lately. I think our image of Divine Mother, above all else, is what informs a woman about what she should and shouldn’t be. So I seek to construct a new definition.

As a reader and writer I think it is important to get to know your fans and make a connection with them as an author who takes the extra step to hear what their fans think and want in their continued writing is continued success and key to selling more books .Do you agree with that?

Of course! How can I connect to women if I don’t know what speaks to them?

Do you cry when writing sad scenes?

Yes, especially when the scene reminds me of an especially emotional moment I’ve had in my own life.

Did you have a Cover Designer?

Yes. His name is Geronimo Quitoriano.

Who is your fictional boyfriend or girlfriend crush?

I will always love Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre.

If you were able to dine and have a one on one with your favorite writer/author who would it be?

Kate Chopin.

Do just re-read your favorite books?

I mix it up and alternate between something new and a tried and true favorite.

Do you ever get in a reading slump like your readers do?

I definitely go through periods of not reading, if that’s what you mean. Sometimes I’m thinking too much about my own writing to read someone else’s.

What is the funniest book you ever read?

Green Eggs and Ham. That Sam I Am is resilient!

about the author

Samantha Egret was born of a passion for writing and a desire to create an open dialog on female sexuality. Frustrated at the tendency of the media to portray females as necessarily sexually submissive and men as authorities on pleasing women, she set our to write a work of Erotica that defies this paradigm. After all, a woman is the foremost authority on her own body, not a man! In Desire's Anthem: A Rock 'N' Roll Romance, an established suburban mother not only awakens to her own desirability, but also teaches a known Lothario a thing or two about pleasing a woman. Samantha seeks to encourage women not only to assert themselves sexually, but to truly believe that they themselves are worthy sources of desire. Says Samantha: "A woman that not only embraces her sexuality but also knows she can BE the fantasy emanates a power and a confidence that is truly a force with which to be reckoned: and it's damn sexy to her partner, too!" Her ultimate goal: to help ALL women see the absolute fabulousness in themselves! Samantha resides in Downtown Los Angeles, among the high-rises and large-living, a graduate of the high-stakes world of public relations. Desire's Anthem is her first novel. www.samanthaegret.com

If there’s one thing Rye Holcomb hates, it’s small, tight-knit towns with high virtues and zero tolerance for outsiders. Fidelity is just such a town. And Rye is just such an outsider. So when he and his brother, Cash, take jobs in Fidelity, Rye decides not to get too comfortable. Which is why he is avoiding some rather confusing feelings for his new boss, Cora McKay.

Cora was born, raised, and baptized in Fidelity. She owns a thriving construction business, has a close circle of friends, and is the breadwinner for her mother and four sisters. The one thing she lacks is a sex life, something she’s never longed for until now. One conversation with Rye sparks her sexual awakening, and, in spite of his reputation as a man-whore, Cora can’t resist giving in to his advances.

As Rye enjoys initiating his virgin employer, and Cash experiences a relationship with a man for the first time in his life, they begin to think of Fidelity as home. But small towns have brought them trouble in the past, and it appears Fidelity holds trouble for their future. Can their newfound relationships be enough to overcome a past that relentlessly follows them? Can two men who have been burned by love learn to trust again?

He took one step toward her, closing the distance between them a little bit. “I’m sorry I hurt you, Cora. I’m sorry for what I did Sunday. That was just really shitty of me, and I got no excuse. But I figured out that I’ve done this to myself. You have every right to think badly of me. I walked into this town figuring it was just like any other town, so I might as well get mine while I could. I already had my mind made up, so when something sweet and amazing came my way, I didn’t have a fucking clue how to handle it.”

Her heart pounded hard in her chest, and she found she couldn’t keep staring into his eyes.

“Cora, when you smiled the first time, you changed my life. I haven’t been able to get you out of my head this whole time. I’ve been praying to God all week that I haven’t messed things up for good.”

Now she felt she could barely breathe.

“Did I? Did I mess things up for good?”

She couldn’t even turn to look at him. He must have sensed it because he touched her chin with the tip of his finger and turned her head toward him. His eyes were so incredibly beautiful and earnest.

She cleared her throat and in a husky voice, asked, “What is it you want with me?”

“Just a chance. Let me prove to you that the guy you’ve known the past month isn’t really who I am. It’s just who I became after giving up on people. I can fix this, Cora.”

She opened her mouth to answer though she didn’t know what to say. Thankfully, the sound of trucks approaching interrupted them. She turned toward the noise. “We should get back—”

He spun her into his arms and pressed his lips to hers as he smoothed her hair off her forehead, leaving his hands to gently cup her face. The urgency and sincerity in his kiss undid her. She fisted her hands in his shirt and held on.

“I want you,” he whispered against her lips. “I’ve never wanted anyone like I want you, Cora.”

Three things Seren knew: #1 Her life felt odd being so tame. #2 She lost her parents when she was young and missed then dearly. #3 Her life was never going to be the same after the day Chase came back into it.

In a world, not unlike our own the economy has tanked allowing the inhabitants to seek solace in a world of virtual gaming. Now, money hungry corporations will stop at nothing to make a buck, even if that means releasing a product that will claim millions of lives.

“Seren!” Chase was running towards them. “Seren! Move!” He jumped in between them, arms reaching back to protect her.
Robert turned his palm, revealing another, much larger metal piece. “Silly boy, I wouldn’t hurt her.”
“Well, you can’t be too careful.” Chase scowled at him.
Seren lowered one of Chase’s arms, stepping up next to him. “What is that?”
Robert looked down at the flat piece of metal, etched with groves that appeared to be in no particular design. “This is one of the things you will need.” He put a hand on her shoulder. “I’m assuming you didn’t come to just catch up after all these years.”
“Please come with us. I have so many questions.” She motioned towards the car.
“I shouldn’t. If they see me with you, they’ll know what you’re doing.” He cupped the metal piece in his hand, turning it over and thrusting it at Seren.
“But I don’t know what I’m doing.” She pleaded with him. “Please, I don’t care if we go to your place or a diner or whatever.”
“Seren, it is very dangerous.” He shook his head.
Chase intervened. “For who? Her or yourself?”
Robert flashed him a stabbing look. “Seren is like family to me.”
“Some family. You abandoned her just like her family did,” he cut into him.
“I have been trying to save this world that’s quickly spiraling out of control these days, if you haven’t noticed. But my inactivity in Seren’s life hasn’t been for a lack of caring. It’s because I was trying to keep her out of it and keep her safe.” He took a step back.
Chase looked at Seren. “Yeah, well, her parents dragged her into it. So now we need some answers.”
“Fine.” Robert huffed. “I’ll meet you at the Shelby Street Diner at four. But take this now, just in case.” He grabbed Seren’s hand and placed the new metal piece and a small piece of paper in it. “If I don’t show, follow the instructions on this paper. Promise me.”
“Sure Thing.” She nodded, staring at the folded paper in her palm.
“Now, please leave. You never know who is watching.” He walked back to his corner.
She started to unfold the paper, but Chase put a hand over hers. “Not here. Let’s get out of here. I am starting to get a really bad feeling. I don’t care if he’s crazy or not. He’s right. You never know who’s watching.”
“You’re starting to sound like them.” They walked back towards the car.
“Yeah, well, this is all a bit creepy. I don’t really want to take any chances.” He put a hand on her back and shrugged.
A few feet from the car, Chase spotted a boy, couldn’t have been but a year or two out of his teens, running in the direction of the car that he’d left running when he went after Seren. The boy threw the door open and threw it into gear.
Before the wheels could make more than an inch rotation, the car exploded. The shockwave of the explosion throwing them and several other bystanders to the ground. Shrapnel flying in every direction, a piece of metal lodging into...

about the author
clip_image008
Colleen Nye started writing at an early age. Between school writing assignments and her love of reading in early elementary school. In high school, she submitted some of her poems and short stories to various mediums including anthologies, newspapers, magazines and contests. Several of which were published and won her awards including a few editor’s choice awards, placements in contests and even The Sarah Endres Award for Young Writers. Colleen also started a poetry club in her high school where she held weekly meetings to share her writings with her fellow classmates and to be able to hear what others were writing. She wanted other young writers to be proud to share their writing.
As an adult, she branched out and worked as a freelance writer for corporations and non-profit organizations, writing press releases for newspapers, magazines and online blogs and web sites. She also worked with politicians to create campaign and promotional fliers, bios and web site blurbs. Other works she has done have been research and photography for a few Mid-Michigan sites highlighted in the book Paranormal Lansing by Nicole Bray and Robert DuShane. She’s also worked with several companies, creating their how-to articles and product descriptions.
In 2009, Colleen joined a writer’s group called Writing at the Ledges in her home town of Grand Ledge, MI. In 2010, they published their second anthology of the group’s poems, short stories, memoirs and essays entitled Seasons of Life. Colleen’s short story, “Full Circle” was a part of this book, being one of the longer pieces and receiving several great reviews. In 2012, the group published their third anthology, in which, Colleen had two short stories.
In 2008, Colleen collaborated with her friend, Carrie Peterson, about a dream Carrie had one night. This dream became part of the opening sequence for her novel, When In Maui. Carrie’s dream and her friendship help Colleen shape When In Maui into Colleen’s first full length novel, published in 2012.
In 2013-14, she wrote a tech thriller, Immersion. Signing it with Anchor Group Publishing and released 2015. A story she's anxious to see reach a wider audience. Anchor Group also picked up When in Maui, an opportunity Colleen is very excited to see develop.
Colleen currently lives in Michigan with her two daughters – a budding chef and an aspiring free spirit that rivals her own inner gypsy. She is teaching writing classes locally. Her next novel? She’s working on a few projects and anxious to share them with you all.
