Eighteen-year-old Averie’s life is turned upside-down when she’s instructed by her long-missing mother to enroll in an international college despite her being a local. Soon after, Averie discovers she is a nephilim—part human part angel—and her young life drastically changes from awfully droning to incomprehensibly hectic as she juggles college work, bullying, demanding training sessions with a surprising fit seventy-year-old, family issues, and the one thing she’s most skeptical of: love. When adults in her life don't fulfill their rightful responsibilities, she’s forced to take those neglected responsibilities into her own hands and set everyone’s life back on the right track. With the aid of a special Japanese classmate Sasuke, and a fiercely determined and righteous attitude, will Averie be strong enough to overcome the challenges in her difficult adolescence?

I stared at him in shock; this was getting completely out of hand. At this rate, he would really be failing Ms. Psychotic’s class.
Slinging his backpack over his shoulder, he said to me, “Let’s go?”
There was a collective gasp of shock in the lab. Following his lead, I packed up as well, and before long, the two of us were out of the lab, leaving the rest of the class gawking in disbelief.
When we were out of view, Sasuke turned to me. “Let’s chill at my room until the next class. What do you think?”
For a moment, I wondered what room he was talking about, but I quickly realised it could only be his hostel. With no other idea in mind, I agreed. Sasuke led the way, and I found myself outside a boys’ toilet soon after.
“Wait here,” he said before disappearing into the toilet.
Maybe he needed the washroom badly?
Seconds later, Sasuke emerged from the toilet and indicated for me to come in. “No one’s inside. Come on.”
“What? Are you serious? This is the gents!” I told him, as though he didn’t know already.
“I need to zap us there. We can’t just walk into the hostel during school hours. There’s a guard on duty,” he explained.
“Oh. Okay…” With little choice, I stepped into the gents with Sasuke.
“Ready?” he asked, holding out his open hand.
I took it and closed my eyes. “Ready.”

Our Review

I give this book a 4 star – I really loved the characters. Lord I am glad I am not in school anymore all that petty status, I am better than you stuff just would never fly with me and I would be using some of what Averie has on them. LOL I wasn’t expecting the book to go the route it did. When it first started I was thinking new girl, new school, struggling to fit in and the cute guy, the popular guy would come in save the day. That wasnt the case with this book, well its that and so very much more. Nephilim, astrology signs, good and bad and yeah love. One of my favorite characters was Sasuke wow was he on his game almost from the start and at times funny. This is a quick and fun read and I recommend it to everyone.

Book Review for Hers by Dawn Robertson

I am weak.
I am lonely.
I am a slut.
I am strong.
I am Dominant.
I am independent.
I am Seven James.

My entire life, no one has wanted me, and that was fine, because I sure as shit didn't need anyone else. Blah, Blah Blah, insert sad story here about negligent parents, and shitty siblings, and you have my life story in a nut shell. When my college boyfriend dumped me, it was just icing on the cake. Five years, and a booming career later I am here to collect my revenge.

That was until a delicious plaything walked into the kink club I frequent, and rocked my typically un-rockable world. Causing me to break the one rule I have lived by since Daniel Alexander walked out of my life, never have sex with the same person twice. Ever.

Warning!!!! Hers contains sexually explicit situations that may be uncomfortable for some. These include FF, FMF, and MFM interactions.

Our Review

Oh my goodness Dawn, what a super great fun book to read. I absolutely loved “Hers”. You grabbed me when we did the cover reveal for this book and I waited on pins and needles for the chance to read this book. People often look at covers and it draws them in, then they read the book and it’s a total flop, the only good thing is the cover. Well let me tell all you readers out there – that is not the case with Hers. Not only is the cover beyond awesome & sexy. But this hot little erotic book is downright steamy. There is a great story in the pages of this book, it’s not just all sex, sex, sex. Now don’t get me wrong there is some really amazing sex scenes in here. Some way more than I have ever read or would ever personally get into myself. But OMG it so makes this book undeniably, kink-a-fiably amazing.

The story starts with Seven James and her slime bag of a boyfriend Daniel Alexander breaking up and Seven’s vow to herself to have total revenge on him. Trust me this asshat deserves it too. And Seven has worked out the best KARMA revenge ever.

By this time on Friday, I will ruin Daniel Alexander as I swoop into the boardroom of his father’s company and take the job he has dreamed of since he was a little boy. How is that for Karma douche-nugget?

Now I am not going to spoil and tell you just what she does but oh I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when she walked into the boardroom that he was sitting in and her news was delivered. I just love it when a woman puts a man in his place. Especially a putz like Daniel. But wait I am getting ahead of myself. Oh calling Levi – you hot stud of a man, showing up at the Kink club. Oh I have never been to one of those but wowsers if you meet juicy men like that I may have to rethink a few things.

Seven is thrown for a surprise when she walks into that board room and sitting there all sexy, sparkling eyes and all is her hot little trist of a man Levi. LOL OMG yeah the fly on the wall can that please be me. Watch her squirm while dishing out Karma at the same time. Its good people, good stuff let me tell you.

See Seven she is broken, damaged, and her way of thinking, of men, well its how does one say, broken right along with her. She uses them up and spits them out. We can thank her screwed up family, brother, Daniel and even her BFF for that. But Levi messes with her life's game plan.

The pull that Levi has on Seven is undeniable and really messes with her, her way of life, her thinking, when Levi is around the game changes.

The sexual dance that goes on between Seven and Levi is charged, its electrifying, its down right call the fire fighters, turn the hoses on full blast hot. OMG the things these two do, I hope there are no nuns reading this because I am sorry to say – if your vajayjay doesn’t clench, twitch, and yearn when you are reading this book – well I am so sorry for you. LOL

Thing is what Seven has lived her life by, the rules she has set, the standards, they don’t go so well once Levi walks into her world. Levi just might be the one to change all the rules to Sevens little games.

He doesn’t move. He’s waiting for my reaction. His gaze never leaves mine, and I am sure he can read the Grimm expression on my face. Something about Levi just breaks me; I can’t hide the slightest things from him. He is my kryptonite, and it sucks balls.

Now I will say this book is full of graphic language and very graphic sex scenes. If you can’t handle that then you won’t like the book. But trust me when I say it is Seven, it is who she is and fits her character to a T. And well sorry what I wouldn’t give for a Levi in my life. Heck yeah submissive and dominating WOWSERS!!!!!

So now I am off to buy a new kindle because I think mine melted in the process of reading this frigging hot arse book. I can not wait to read the next book in this series. This is the first book I have read of Dawns and I am a fan for life now.
