Death Stalks Them All...

Kere is the second most infamous member of the shadow organization known as Sentella. An explosive engineer who strikes terror into the hearts of the League, the bounty on his head is truly staggering. No one knows his true identity.

The daughter of a traitor, Zarya Starska grew up hard on the back streets of hell- her family hunted to the brink of extinction. But Zarya dreams of a different life and a different world. A world where the harsh hand of the Caronese emperor doesn’t destroy his subjects. As a Resistance leader, her goal is to topple the government that needlessly ruined the lives of her family and comrades-in-arms. In this deadly quest, the only person she can trust is a mysterious man known only as Kere.

By The Light Of Day...

Kere has a dark secret and a brutal past. As he aids the Resistance, he’s actually working to bring down his own family- the Cruels- so named for the viciousness in their blood that runs so deep, no other name would do. Born and bred from one of the oldest and noblest families in the United Systems, Kere’s real name is Darling Cruel. And the one thing he wants most is to see his uncle, who stole the crown by murdering his father, pay for his crimes.

If You Tell A Lie Long Enough, It Becomes The Truth...

In order to protect his mother from execution, Darling’s entire life has been built on a lie that he dare not breathe a contrary word about. His hands tied by his uncle’s cruelty. No one has ever seen the real him. No one except Zarya. She’s the only person he’s ever fully trusted with the truth. But when she betrays him by allowing a weapon he designed solely for her to be used against him, all bets are off.

The Hero Is Now The Monster...

Betrayed to the deepest level, Darling becomes an enemy even worse than his uncle. His goal is not only to reign, but to kill every Resistance member he can find. He won’t rest until all of them are dead and that includes Zarya.

The Twisted Hand Of Fate...

Zarya is the only hope to reach the heart of the man her people once considered their ally. A man who hates her with a fury so great that she knows it’s just a matter of time before he kills her. But if she can find the part of him that once trusted her, the part of him that once loved her, she might be able to save not only her own life, but those of her people.

It’s an impossible mission.

Too bad she doesn’t play the odds

Our Review

I have been reading this series for some time and I am totally enjoying it ! I have so say that this story has touched my heart made me cry so many times throughout this story. This is one of the best books that I have read this year.It was such an emotional read. The characters were riveting  .

I loved this story it was engaging and mesmerizing. So much action and adventure and drama, amazing friendships.True love for both family and friends.Truly and engaging story and you have to applaud all the work that went into this story it is wonderful and heart wrenching.

Got to love Kere he is also known as Darling Cruel is leading a double life handsome and deadly not matter what face he wearing. The overall story was a very tragic one .I felt the story tugging at my heart strings constantly.Kere he endured so much throughout his life it was amazing he remained sane.

The story was about fighting about injustices and a group of men trying to make there world a better place. The men of this elite group were very powerful and dangerous men who were kings and princes of there own country banded together in a secret group. You have to admire all the characters in this story they all have there own story and own tragedies but, all have carved out a life for themselves .They have developed unshakable friends willing to give there lives for one another.

The story reminded me a little bit of Acheron story one of Ms.Kenyons books.Reminding us that we pay for the sins of others and the games they play with other peoples lives while the less honorable ones hold all the glory and power.

Zarya is a warrior working on the assumption of wrong information and her actions are hurting innocent people. She is a dangerous warrior herself leading a rebel group.During her service she meets Kere known as Darling Cruel heir to the throne of his country. This couple have a wonderful romance even though in the years the have been together she does not truly know who he is really but, Kere is hoping for a lifetime with her even after he reveals himself that she will love the real him and have faith in him and have there love survive.

The relationship of this couple will become a rocky one.Loyalties will be tested. While reading this story you are rooting for a happily ever after for Kere but, your thinking that his happiness is doomed from the very beginning to many obstacles to overcome.

This story was very intense and full with tons of intrigue and danger at every turn you are seeing secrets unfolding constantly throughout the story making it a griping read.Love the characters of this story Kere the most and Zarya too but, there we many times I wanted to kick her butt saying wake up and smell the coffee amoung other things like dumb b****just wake up and see whats right in front of you!The story is full of family drama and betrayal.Unlikely friendships were forged.Darling Cruel is a man one who you can respect and follow. He has friends who would give there life for him and he do the same in return. We see forgiveness from a man you never thought to see knowing such a betrayal is really unforgivable.

There are so many great things you could say about this story and never end.It was quite the page turner and kept me up into the wee hours of the night. When I starting reading this series I thought hum... this is not my kind of thing but, I was immediately sucked in to the there plots and characters of each story .Just loved them all! Kere's story is my favorite to date. This book has gone into my keeper pile and will be re-reading this story again before the year is out but, this time with a box of tissues next to me.

Recommended read to all !. If you are not reading Sherrilyn Kenyon's you need to be she is an incredible author and her books are not to be missed.

Simply and amazing read.......

Our Review

Let me start off by saying that this is my first book by Terry Spears and she didn't disappoint me and won't be the last. I love her style of writing. This plot was filled with great characters and had a smooth flowing plot with bits of intrigue and danger and a very endearing couple who found romance and love and one's mate among the danger and intrigue going on around them. The book was a page turner from the very first page couldn't wait to see what happened next.

I have to say that Duncan and Shelley were very likable characters and easy to relate to.Duncan won my heart from the very beginning of the story with his good deed straight off the bat and I knew then that I was going to fall in love with him ! Ah....

Duncan is on a mission to go a find the man who has stolen there fortune which brings him to the Caribbean where the thief is hiding out in his compound.Without the funds return the clan will fall to ruin. It's up to Duncan to get the funds back and restored to his Laird who is also his brother before its to late. Here on the island he meets Shelley Campbell botanist who is on the island to study the old growth forests who turns out to be a mesmerizing little werewolf who he meets at the airport.

Who would of thought running into another of your kind on a Caribbean Island know less !Duncan's attraction to the sexy wolf is not one he needs to have when he is on a mission ! But, fate has other ideas...when the one that Duncan is stalking takes and interest in his pretty little werewolf he now has a new complication he did not need. Now, he is thinking there will have to be a new plan as her safety is most important.

Although this couple has gone to the island for different reasons and neither on vacation like most people would be they both turn to one another when both are in need of help. The attraction between this couple is explosive from the onset.Shelley and Duncan made the cutest couple even though Duncan is looking at there situation as a fling and no more.

Shelley surprised me. I found her to be witty and funny and tough as nails when she needed to be.Love -able and loyal and fierce when those threaten who and what she cares about.Who would have thought that the little botanist was a warrior at heart !And Duncan a fierce Highlander with a loving and caring side to him.Protective and loyal and dangerously sexy with and aura that says danger....

Just loved this story all around and if I could give it more than five stars I would. This story contained all the things I love shape-shifters wolves and great plot that had you so engrossed because it was constantly changing bringing more danger at every turn wondering what next ? Loved the developing romance between this couple. There were tons of sexy encounters for you to read about among and some really hot sex scenes that would have anyone salivating! And of course a few tears and laughter. But, most of all Duncan ,who touched my heart with his big Highlander heart both fierce and protective of not only when it came to Shelley but, that of the way he spoke of his Laird and clan and family had your heart melting. I was In love right from the very beginning.I was glad to be on Duncan's adventure with him were danger lurked at every turn taking you for one heck of a ride. And I loved the setting of this book.It had me intrigued that you would put a brawny highlander smack dab in the middle of a Caribbean ! The descriptions of the tropical island and that of Duncan's home had you feeling that you were right there with them. And most of all you got to love it when a mere slip of  she-wolf brings a fierce hunky highlander to his knees. That's Priceless ! A excellent read just Loved it.

Recommended read to all ! After reading this story and just had to go an order the rest of Terry Spears books and did just that !The finished book went into my keeper pile and has earned a new place among all my other favorite books. You know that you have written a great book when the reader can't wait to read the book all over again after just finishing it!

The plan is for the Woodcutter Sisters Series to encompass 7 books — one about each sister. That’s always been my original plan. The publisher’s plan was for Enchanted to be a solo book...INTERVIEW
Hero is another excellent installment in the Woodcutter Sisters story and a mandatory read for anyone looking for an antidote to the typical princess story.  - REVIEW
Sept 25 - Interview with Carina Olsen
What was the first fairy tale you remember falling in love with?  I started reading when I was three and was crazy about reading by the age of five. When I was eight, my French grandmother gave me a giant copy of unexpurgated Grimm and Andersen tales. I mark that date as The Beginning of The End...

 - Meet the Inspiration Part I on The Wonderings of One Person

I was a normal kind from a REALLY NOT NORMAL family. My biggest feelings of inadequacy came from comparing myself to my parents and siblings and everyone else and just not measuring up...

Sept 26 – Review on Shannon’s Blog
Coming from a large family, I liked the way the author not only made the heroine one of many siblings, but managed to include all her brothers and sisters...  It wasn’t just an interesting biographical fact that Saturday came from a large family; it actually mattered to the story.
Sept 27 – My Amazing Sister on Leeana Me
My little sister, Soteria, always asks me who she is in the Woodcutter stories, but it’s hard to say. She and I were so close growing up–if I am every single one of my characters, then she is always my sister in every scene.
Sept 30 -- USA Today Happy Ever After interview
My 8-year old daughter loves Alethea Kontis. She's never read one of her YA books, but she knows her as "Princess Alethea" who hangs out with Mommy at book festivals. Alethea lives and breathes fantasy, fairy tales and girl power, and it always pours out of the page. The second book in her Woodcutter series, Hero, is out, and this one has all the trademark spunky heroine and swashbuckling (there are pirates!) fantasy adventure you will find in her books. I was fortunate enough to grab a few moments with Alethea to ask her a few questions...

- Review of Enchantment on Colorimetry
What a deliciously fairy tale filling read… with just enough light-hearted fun, deeply dark antagonists, magic straight out of real fairy-tale-dom with real fairy god mothers… and characters that carry their faults around like real people that accidentally fell into the story.

...clothes may be an expression of who you are, but they are not the definition.
 - Review at Library of a Book Witch
I think that this series is really good at setting that fairy tale tone with the writing style, being a hard core lover of fairy tales, it makes the books perfect for me. I also love how she weaves in the different stories and pieces it togther like one of Fridays quilts.

- Interview & Review at Tressa's Wishful Endings
Alethea: I have been accused many times of "cramming all the fairy tales into one book like it was some sort of challenge"--and indeed, it sort of started out that way.I just have to ask, what is your favorite fairy tale and fairy tale princess and why?Alethea: Yay! I love answering this question... Interview
Saturday is such a great character! She is struggling with figuring out her place in the world and who exactly she is...  I loved that she isn't dramatic, but rather sarcastic... Review
Oct 2 - Video Rant Geek Girl In Love

Princess Alethea rants about Petronella
I found Hero to be a creative and exciting work of fantasy.  The highlight of the book was the exploration of gender roles, and the romance, which was based very much on the idea that people’s differences can complement each other.
  - "The Big Idea" John Scalzi's blog

Every author wonders if they’ll be able to hack it in a trial by fire. Well, this author knows she’s got what it takes. I wrote that manuscript in three months, and when they didn’t like that, I took the fourth month to rewrite the whole thing. But I did it, against all odds, and what came out was magic.
Ironically, this is exactly what Hero is all about.

Last but not least I must thank the members of my very large family... thank you for keeping my feet tied to the ground while I reach for the stars. You are my heart, and I love you all more than these humble words can say.
 - Review at Books for Kids
I love the way she writes.  Her characters are vibrant and full of life.  Saturday is a fabulous protagonist.  I adore her strength and her stubbornness, her fire and her fight.  I love the way she solves her problems (with her brain) and the way she carries out her plans (with her strength).

 - Review of Hero on Colorimetry
The scene with the lake is burned on my memory forever:  Surrounded by icy walls, with water so clear you can see that the lake is deep, so deep you don’t know how deep, heated from molten lava within the mountain. It’s amazing. I want to go there!!

Oct 7 - Character interview with Saturday Woodcutter at I Smell Sheep

Troubadour: I’m here today with Saturday Woodcutter, sixth of the seven Woodcutter daughters, and sister to the Queen of Arilland. Princess Saturday, could you tell me--

Saturday: Call me "princess" again and I punch you in the face.
 -  Craft "Stealing from the Best" on Romance Writers of America & Fantasy Futuristic &Paranormal Chapter
In my teen novels, I retell the classic Grimm and Andersen (and a few others') fairy tales. I don't regurgitate the exact same sequence of events--though as they're public domain, I suppose I could. I prefer, instead, to fill in the blanks I feel the original authors left.
Oct 8 - Families in Fiction at A Backwards Story

In real life, we have families. Some of us have REALLY LARGE AND OBNOXIOUS families. And though we feel alone sometimes in those awkward middle school years, we're never really alone-alone.
Even when we want to be.
 - Review at JL Mbewe
There’s that saying that “it takes a village to raise a child” — well, in the publishing world, books are the author’s children. And it takes a village to raise them, too...
The first thing that jumped off the page at me was the author’s style. It’s playful, fun, and fresh filled with an out-of-this-world yet grounded fairy tale experience. I loved it... Review
AK – Beloved is a parallel novel to Hero, chronicling the adventures of Friday and the rest of the Woodcutter crew back in Arilland, in the tragic aftermath of the appearance of Saturday's "impossible ocean." Apprentice seamstress Friday becomes a leader of the children (because that's Friday's thing), and gets caught up in trying to break a curse involving seven swans, a mute girl, and the need to weave seven shirts out of stinging nettles.
I've always loved all the bird-tales ("The Goose Girl" is my favorite) and I have to say...I am SO IN LOVE with writing this book. Beloved is such an appropriate title.
 - Deleted Scene at Fragments of Life
It was a sad road that led Peregrine to his mother's bedside...
All in all, Hero was like a tapestry of fairytales interwoven together: vibrant, fun, humorous, tragic and100% magical. I strongly recommend this to readers who love fairytale retellings and fantasy. - Review

Cover Reveal for Not Alone by Amber Nation

Releasing November 11, 2013

Synopsis

Emmalynne Morgan thought that getting married to her High School sweetheart and starting a family was all she wanted in life. Everything was perfect until circumstances change and devastating blows occur.
Fast forward five years, Emmalynne thinks she is broken, not only emotionally but physically as well, so her confidence was severely lacking. Being a single mother to her son, Tucker, as well as an owner of a small town Bookstore, she does everything she can to keep men at arms-length, not thinking she is worthy anymore with her plus-sized body and scars.
Taking it upon themselves, Emmalynne’s best friends, Toby and Tessa make it their mission to bring her out of her tight-knitted comfort zone. That is when she locks eyes on the male perfection that is Grady.
Grady Finnegan was the gorgeous new guy in town. Recently injured and discharged from the Army, Grady comes to his Uncle’s aid in helping manage the family bar. Not being anywhere near innocent when it comes to women, Grady meets Emmalynne and he knows one thing, that he wants her.
Sparks fly and passion ignites, but will that be enough? Not ready to lay her heart on the line, Emmalynne guards it as best she can and ultimately fails. When chaos erupts and Grady’s past comes back to haunt him, it leaves Emmalynne’s already broken heart, shattered.
Will past circumstances prevent Emmalynne from having the future she deserves? Or can Grady help her follow her heart and show her that she is Not Alone.

Teaser

With her gone for a minute now was my chance to ask Tucker about this morning. “Hey Tuck, what did you mean about your mom twirling her necklace?” I asked in a muted voice, just to be sure Emmalynne wouldn’t hear me.
“Man, whenever she is lying, she takes her necklace into her hand and twirls it around her fingers. I can always tell by that move what I’m getting for my birthday, it’s so awesome,” he stops to look towards the door to the garage, realizes the coast is still clear, and continues, “I’ll be like am I getting the new Lego Batman? If she says no and twirls that necklace…BOOM! Lego Batman,” he had the most devilish grin appear on his face about the same time Em came back inside through the door leading to the garage.
This is very valuable information I’ve just obtained. Now I’m going to be trying to think back to see if she’s ever twirled her necklace when giving me an answer….hmm…
“Tucker, my child you are relieved of your apple peeling duties, Drew’s parents are on their way here to pick you up,” Emmalynne said to Tucker, and no sooner than the words came out of her mouth he took off, leaving me stuck peeling apples without a backwards glance. Traitor.

My name is Amber Nation. I am a wife, mother of two beautiful girlies, an avid reader, and a newly acquired Romance and New Adult author.
I was born and raised in Southern Indiana, but resided in Texas for five years while my husband was in the Army. It was definitely a journey, but glad to be back in my home state.
Whenever I’m not doing my motherly duties or at the soccer field I absolutely love to read whenever I have a moment to spare. My kindle is never far from my side.
My love of reading increased about a year ago and due to my love of books I decided to try my hand at writing.
Already having a set of characters in my head screaming to get out, I started writing my first book titled ‘Not Alone.’
Not Alone should be finished and hopefully released by mid November 2013!
