Johanna Walker is used to taking charge. But she’s about to meet someone who will make her lose control....

It has always been up to Johanna to care for her family, particularly her younger brother, Cole. With an absent father and a useless mother, she’s been making decisions based on what’s best for Cole for as long as she can remember. She even determines what men to date by how much they can provide for her brother and her, not on whatever sparks may—or may not—fly.

But with Cameron MacCabe, the attraction is undeniable. The sexy new bartender at work gives her butterflies every time she looks at him. And for once, Jo is tempted to put her needs first. Cam is just as obsessed with getting to know Jo, but her walls are too solid to let him get close enough to even try.

Then Cam moves into the flat below Jo’s, and their blistering connection becomes impossible to ignore. Especially since Cam is determined to uncover all of Jo’s secrets…even if it means taking apart her defenses piece by piece.

I really enjoy Samantha Young's books I started out reading her young adult series which I loved so decided to give her contemporary romances a try and was not disappointed.

Learning this is part of a series I need to go back and read the others.I just loved the characters in this book except for Johanna's mother she was just a mean spirited unhappy bitch. The others were engaging and had personalities that made me laugh especially Johanna's best friend what a riot!

Even though this was a romance story it was more about a young women letting go of her past fears and insecurities enough to find love which was extremely hard for her to over come as she came from a abusive home and upbringing. But, the love of the right man will change all of that.

I always have a favorite character and Cameron would me mine he had the patience of a saint and was gentle and kind in dealing with Johanna and her family.I give him prop's alone for not running the minute he met Johanna's mother .Even though Cameron is my favorite I connected with Johanna as I have lived her life and know what it is like. She may have seemed whiny and bit of a bitch but that was more about protecting herself than anything else. The story touched on a lot of Johanna's past and what it was growing up and how growing up in that environment does to a person. All the fears and phobia's she had are all so true.

Johanna was seen as nothing but a gold digger but what she was really about was protecting and providing for her brother and wanted to see him happy even if she had to sacrifice her own happiness.Once you understand her you see her in a totally different light.

I just loved this story even though it was full of heartache the love of a good man can change your life.Cameron was a key to the grand transformation that took place in Johanna's life and in Johanna herself.Cameron and Johanna's courtship had some bumps in the road but there romantic encounters were scorching hot. This was a touching tale that was definitely worth reading.

I would recommend it to all readers.I would especially recommend it to those women who come from a abusive past as Samantha touch's on a lot of what it is like for a person who dealt with an abusive past feels like in then and now.For Johanna letting go of ones own past and learning to love yourself is the key to a happy life and finding that special someone to complete your happiness.Looking forward to the other books in its series.Samantha has another fan right here !

Growing up isn’t always easy.  But for most teenage girls, they can rely on their best friend to help them get through the process.  A BFF is something that is truly treasured and completely irreplaceable.  You share all of your secrets, and are loyal and honest with each other, even when you’re acting just a little bit crazy.  You have each other’s backs no matter what and you form a bond that is virtually unbreakable.

At least that’s what normal teenage girls experience.

Nat and Mel have been bestie’s since childhood and Nat has followed her blindly ever since.  But as Nat’s friendship with Mel begins to lead her down the wrong path, she starts to question the sincerity of their relationship.  Nat starts to see Mel’s manipulative, deceitful ways become more focused on her.  Will Natalie hold on tight to the friendship she’s had her entire life, no matter what it cost her?  Or will she let her heart lead her to a relationship that’s not so twisted.

N.L. Greene, who is 1/2 of the author duo Riana Lucas, has decided to venture outside of the Fantasy world that she and her best friend created with Poppy and The Deadly Flowers Series to write a few books on her own.  While she loves working with her best friend, writing solo has allowed her to explore interest that had solely been her own.  She spends a lot of time reading her favorite authors which range all over the place and in every genre, but spends just as much time with her husband and two daughters, traveling, shopping, and playing video games.  Nichole was born in Pennsylvania but grew up in Florida, where she and her high school sweetheart live with their two children.
