About Book

Korinne Anders had it all. She had the perfect job, the perfect house, and the perfect husband. When tragedy strikes, her world takes a devastating turn. Six months after losing her husband to a car accident, Korinne vows it to herself never to love again. If she doesn’t allow another man in her heart, then there’s no reason for her to feel the pain of loss. This plan seems to work, but is put to the test when Korinne’s best friend can’t stand to see her suffering any longer.
Korinne’s long-time friend, Jenna Perry, has an idea and it involves helping her friend find the spark of life in her soul no matter what it takes. Korinne didn’t know that Jenna’s plan meant bringing back a past love, a second chance with the man that Korinne had to leave in college, but always kept a place for in her heart.
When Galen Matthews learns of Korinne’s loss and that she’s finally moved back home, he wants nothing more than to be there for her. The love he felt for Korinne years ago has never left him, and now he’s given a second chance to not only mend her heart of her loss, but to also continue the love they shared in the past. Will his love and determination make her strong enough to give fate a second chance, or will her fear of losing another love make her run away?
What will Korinne do when she’s faced with a love so powerful that no matter what she does there’s nowhere to run from it?

My Thoughts

I have always enjoyed a good romance novel from time to time. And “Loves Second Chance” is just that and so much more. Before I start let me just say if you haven’t read this book I highly recommend it and strongly urge you to have a full box of tissues with you. The emotional roller coaster you will go on within the pages of this book are truly amazing.

The main characters of the book Korinne and Galen are truly phenomenal. Who doesn’t love a knight in shining armor and that is just what Galen is to Korinne. Handsome, no sexy, has everything going for him, and there is a past there between them. He is strong and loving and kind. The book starts off very tragically for Korinne and after months of battling through it Galen comes back into her life.

When Korinne moves back home and tries to start her life again her best friend Jenna who is also married to Galen’s baby brother does what all good friends do and sets her up on a date with Galen, who Korinne dated back in college. And it starts from there, their relationship begins to fall back into place and things are looking good until Korinne has a setback. Just when Galen thinks maybe she won’t come back there she is at the airport throwing herself into his arms and what they do in the airport after wow let’s just say beats the “mile high club”. LOL

Things start looking great for Korinne and Galen when tragedy strikes. Let’s just say my heart sank and the tears were flowing. Just when I thought things couldn’t be more perfect for Korinne her life is thrown upside down and what happened to her before was happening all over again. I was sitting there thinking OMG this is so not right, this is so not fair, how in the world could the author do this to her again. Wasn’t tragedy once enough but tragedy twice. So unfair.

I don’t do spoilers so I am not going to tell you what happens with Korinne and Galen but I will tell you it was so very hard for me to read, to watch Korinne go through this again, only this time the fight was harder and longer. I cried through all of it. But out of every tragedy is always a miracle and that in itself brought the smile back to my face.

If you are like me you have no patience when you read and you want to know what happens. Well you have to have patience in this book or you will miss all the great little moments that are thrown in during Korinne and Galen’s tragedy. And I have to say I love the side characters Jenna and Brady (Galen’s brother and sister in law), they are great.

This book touches on the tragedy of loss and the ability to help another during that tragedy it is something that has always been very near and dear to my heart. I spent 10 years in the medical field during my service in the military and all my life I have always helped others. So to see this unfolding within the pages of this book touched me even more and yes for me made me love the book that much more. So very well written, the tragedy, the pain, the heart felt appreciation of one life lost and another life saved. A miracle!!!!

Yes the book has a happy turn to it, what would a romance novel be without a good turn in it. After the storm there is always a rainbow. And this story has a great rainbow. I have to say the love scenes in this book were just well phew steamy but yet tender. It adds to the happiness in the book, the whole love from tragedy story. And yes a happy ending…….

About Book

Which is why in 1977 Elvis faked his own death and endured massive facial reconstruction surgery, and disappeared from the limelight to live a normal life as the unassuming Aaron King. Unfortunately, leaving fame behind also meant leaving his fortune behind, too, and now Elvis finds himself broke and living in near poverty in a small apartment in Los Angeles. Luckily for him, it turns out he's a pretty good private investigator.

Now in his seventies and contemplating a return to music (discreetly, of course), Elvis is hired to solve a baffling missing person case. The King digs deeper, and soon finds himself surrounded by the seedier elements of Los Angeles, from nefarious Hollywood producers who prey upon the young, to twin brothers with a very dark secret.

And as Elvis pieces the bizarre puzzle together, he slowly makes his singing comeback—and will be reunited on stage with someone even the King himself never dreamed possible

My Thoughts

I grew up with my mom listening to Elvis she had his albums and pictures, we watched his movies growing up. We have all wondered did he really? Could he be? What a great premise for a book and J.R. Rain draws you in from the very first page.

You start out in an interrogation room bright lights, smoke billowing, crying, people watching "I'm Elvis" he says.....

Can you imagine being Elvis one day and the next you are someone else. New look, new name, living in California and working as a P.I. to make end meet. Far cry from where you used to be. But not all things change. Guilt, drugs and booze still fill his life.

Araron has a secret only a few know but someone else is onto him. Who could it be? Aaron is busy trying to find a missing starlet while trying to come to terms with guilt from his past. Battling addictions that still linger and haunt him while dishing out the one liners and quick come backs.

A secret hard to live with, an on again off again girlfriend, a shrink who believes, a friend whose kept the secret, a missing girl, a stalker, a dead man and a need to relive it all this wrapped up in a fast paced, witty, enjoyable book.

About Book

“Then it is settled,” Felix declared. “Come hell or high water, when this is all over, at least one of us here will not make it out alive.”

When Bronwen Snow is pulled from her cottage in the middle of the night, she finds herself seeking the help of three mysterious boys who reside in an abandoned castle deep in the hillside. With only a hasty handwritten note and a vague sense of dread to guide her, Bronwen is forced to put her trust in the eccentric and willful Felix Cavara and his eternal curse – immortality.

My Thoughts

With Mind Strong…
And Heart True…
I Will Live Eternity Loving You….

Tell me hearing those words wouldn’t melt your heart - OMG this book was so good, short but good. It drew me right in. A girl being hunted, a vision told to her by her grandmother. Three young boys sentenced secretly poisoned with dragon’s blood and sentenced to live eternally. After hundreds of years Bronwen is brought into their lives by the vision her grandmother has. At first Felix the oldest of the boys gives her a hard time, he comes across arrogant, snotty, stuck up even and very pig headed. But as the story goes on he softens and even begins to have feelings for Bronwen and she for him.

I can’t imagine what it must be like to live for hundreds of years, to have your loved ones fear you and curse you and having to live your life over and over forever and ever. And I can’t imagine being told that something horrible is trying to hunt me down and attack me or worse yet kill me and my life lay in the hands of a really arrogant young man who is older than he looks. LOL But that is what Felix, Alistair, Loki and Bronwen are faced with in this book.

As the story unfolds Felix begins to change a little at first it’s not truly noticeable unless you are really paying attention, then as time goes on he begins to soften where it comes to Bronwen and then one night you see his true feelings come out as he looks down on her sleeping, he sees the tears left below her eyes, tears he know he caused.

I love how each boy in turn has grown to like having Bronwen in their lives even if she did disrupt it by organizing and cleaning the kitchen. Or how Bronwen comes to love having them in her life even if Loki did wash “boil” her clothes almost down to doll size. It is something that the three boys have not had as for hundreds of years they have only had each other. Keeping to themselves, hidden away from everyone and everything. Stealing away in the shadows.

What they are up against to protect and save Bronwen from is not like anything they have seen before, it’s big, its strong and well Felix knows more than he lets on to any of them. And though they secretly wonder they trust. A trust built on hundreds of years together. But is it enough to get rid of this beast and save Bronwen and obtain the cure that will end their eternal lives? And as the days go by what Felix tried to stop from happening happens and feelings begin to grow. But when Felix finds out what the cure is, is he willing to go that far, are they all willing to go that far?

Get the book & find out because I certainly am not going to give that way. LOL

Oh yeah one more thing besides the laughter you will find bubbling out and the OMG moments – be prepared to pull out the tissues…

About Book

On a hot night in 1990s London Tony Mortimer shoots his old school friend Jonah, cuts off his hand, and wraps it ready for fingerprinting. His girlfriend, Diane, has demands which chime with his: “Get out now and stop looking over your shoulder”.

Welcome to Tony Mortimer’s life, an enforcer whose Robin Hood ideals have long since disintegrated. Caught between the only life he has ever known and the high standards of the only woman he has ever committed to, he knows he has to kill his boss Frederick.

Complicating it all is a newly found family of five brothers, most of whom treat him as their welfare state, and two sisters. All of them share a father, a deceased and lionized patriarch; none a mother. He’s delighted, following a lonely and bitter childhood, to have found them. Now, many of them swaggering like wannabe gangsters, and involved in his moonlighting business, he wishes he could lose them. As blood spills and stains everybody around him in the sweatiest, grimiest, and hottest summer that rainy Sheffield has ever experienced, Tony will seek his way out.

About the Author
Over the Shoulder is Jason Beech's first novel. He has two more coming out in 2013, Don't Be Late & Other Stories, and Moorlands. The latter is about a professional thief, Larry, whose sister goes missing. Finding her brings revelations he can barely handle, putting his own and other lives in danger.

Jason also edited the traditionally published Maya & the Butterfly by Monica Kaushik, a beautiful romance set in India.

You can read some of his short stories and general musings at his blog: jdbeech.wordpress.com.

To fund his degenerate writing lifestyle Jason coaches football/soccer all over New Jersey, winning trophies with numerous teams, as well as getting the occasional battering.

My Thoughts

Okay let me first say I was given this book for free for an honest review. That being said - I have never read a mafia, gangland style type book based on a family of small time thug criminals who want more than they have and come from a lets say strained past and all brought together by one man.

Tony Mortimer is the big brother and he brings together all his half brothers and sisters, he works for Frederick but on the side, on the "down low" he runs his own little racket, offering "protection" to the local neighborhood "for a price". The book shares the history and story of each of the siblings which I found really nice because you get to see life in England and life as a thug from each of their eyes.

The book has its ups and downs - downs for me would be this really isn't my type of genre so it took me a bit to get into the book but once I did I really did find it rather fun to read to see if Tony and Diane would get back together. How Dizzy would handle his issues with Charlie and his ongoing love for Janine. What would happen to Rod and Matt and the other brothers and sisters.

The ups there is a good deal of "thug type" action and I do like action and I do like romance as well and I liked seeing Tony struggle with getting Diane back into his life and how try as he might to hide what he was from her she called him out on it. And Dizzy's love for Janine and how he would think about them and what happens with them.

This really is a good book and I am glad I offered to read it.

My Thoughts

Lisa Olson did an amazing job writing this book I have always loved paranormal fantasy syfy romance books and this was had the right amount of all of it, super story line, great balance, awesome book all the way around.

The book starts right off grabbing you and drawing you in "Just keep driving west 'til you hit water. I'm serious Millie, don't slow down for more than a pit stop 'til you get there, or they'll find you...and they'll never stop coming..." Hello right there from the start she grabs you. The winner gets Millie and she has been given no say in the matter. forced to watch the trial unfold, who will be the winner, who will get Millie. Millie prays it is Cutter...but is it?

The Gracen Chronicles

About Book

There is a world invisible to Untouched eyes, where demons rule the shadows and prey on the innocents. Gracen Potts lives in this world. Her job is to serve and protect those who are oblivious to the monsters hiding from the light.
As a Silver Mortal Gracen has the power to send these demons back to Hell. With the Silver Eagle’s blood running through her veins she feels like nothing can take her down. That is, until she meets a group of Night Vipers who have escaped the Viper clan.
Can Gracen keep doing her job of demon slaying and protect the rebel Vipers?

My Thoughts

Okay this book starts off with Gracen Potts telling you who she is. She isn’t your average every day 16 year old girl who goes to school thinks about boys and makeup and the latest fashions. Instead she comes from a long line of marked special people touched by good to fight against evil. Yes another Good versus evil story. This one has a bit of a twist in that to the naked eye they look like your average humans but to those that are touched or marked by either the good or the bad mark they can see each other. And each side has a job to do. But there is even more of a twist one that I found rather interesting. It takes the fight between good and evil to a whole new level.
Gracen is a real butt kicking girl on the side of good. And with the help of her mother and Jude an informant who works for the good side. They set out on the dark streets of New York to kick some serious demon butt. Gracen is still in school and has managed to make a best friend who keeps her grounded but she still doesn’t have the normal teenage life completely. She has a secret and one that most humans wouldn’t understand if they saw the real her and after midnight anyone can see the real her. During the day only the demons and others fighting on the side of good can see who she really is.
I really loved reading this book Gracen well she just talks like a typical teenager and having a 16 year old daughter I could close my eyes and hear my daughter saying many of the things Gracen says in this book and I would catch myself laughing at her comments and statements throughout the entire book. Maybe it is because Gracen and my daughter are the same age. Gracen is one serious demon but kicking girl – I so love strong females. And there’s some hot men in here too – you can never go wrong with that. I know you will enjoy the book.
Will good defeat evil? Can good and evil work side by side to conquer the most evil of all? Read the book – I won’t “SPOIL” it for you.

Here is an excerpt of a scene between Gracen, her best friend Bets and a waiter named Mark while the girls are out on a girls night out I laughed the entire time:
Just then a male voice breaks into our conversation. It’s Mark, our waiter and all around hottie with a cute butt. Whoa, where did that come from?
Oh, holy crap, I’m beginning to sound like Bets!
“Can I bring you ladies anything else?” he asks, brandishing a handsome smile that’s hot enough to melt a hundred gallons of ice cream.
After that one question the whole conversation changes, sprinting in a new direction I’m not too fond of.
“Actually, Mark, now that you ask, there is one thing you can get us.” Bets winks at me, shooting me a yeah, I’m going there look.
Anticipating her next move I shoot her an evil eye and say, “Bets—“
“Oh yeah?” Mark replies. “What would you like?”
“We were just wondering,” she smiles, batting her mascaraed eyelashes, “if you could give us your phone number.”
I gawk at her, kicking her shin under the table. She cries out in pain, kicking me right back. Looking at Mark I tell him, “Sorry about her—she’s a little slow if you catch my drift.”
“I am not!” Bets exclaims, completely offended and throwing a dirty look in my direction. Then to increase my humiliation level she says to Mark, “I’m only trying to get Gracen here a date. She’s a little shy. She also thinks you’re cute, but she’s afraid to tell you.”
I gasp out loud, disbelieving what my so-called best friend is doing. “Betrina, I’m so going to kill you!”
“she’s such a drama queen,” she continues, rolling her dark eyes. I try to kick her again but she’s pulled her legs up in the seat, expecting my retaliation. She sticks her tongue out at me, this time food free.
To my surprise Mark laughs. “Yes, I can give you my number.” He writes it down and rips the paper from his notepad, handing it over to me. “And Gracen, I would love to go on a date with you.”
I’m speechless as I numbly take the piece of paper from him, knowing how idiotic I must seem with my mouth agape. Why did I just take that paper with his number on it? What’s going on here?
“Great!” Bets answers for me. “How about tomorrow night?” Six o’clock at Starbucks.” Glancing at me she asks, “You like coffee, don’t you Gracen?”
“Bets!” I explode, my patience with my best friend finally breaking apart. Turning to Mark I say, “Mark, I’m sure you’re a nice guy, but I can’t go on a date with you. The reason is… well, it’s kind of personal.”
Bets snorts out a laugh. “Oh please!”
“It’s true!” I squeal, glaring at her, then back at Mark. “It’s just, um…”
“Yean?” Mark smiles, the dimple on his left cheek deepening.
I hesitate before responding, “I’m gay.”
This shocks him. “You’re gay? For real?”
“You are such a liar!” Bets is beside herself with rage, furious with me for once again using the I’m gay line and ruining her little set-up moment. “I’m so tired of you using that excuse. It’s a total lie!”
Bets continues to rant, pointing a finger at me. “Do you know how many guys I’ve had to bang just to get them to believe that you and I are not together? All because you use that stupid line to scare off guys.”
Striking back I say, “Oh, I know you’re not blaming me for all the—“
“Look, it would be different if you were gay, but you’re not, so quit saying that you are!” She crosses her arms and frowns, looking away from me. I’m angry, stunned silent, mortified to the ultimate limit. I know my usual pale face is flushed with redness.
A few silent seconds pass before Mark wonders, “So, you’re not gay?”
“Y-Yeah, I mean…” I stutter, sounding like a moron. Staring into his hazel eyes I reluctantly give in. “No. Mark. I’m not gay.”
I feel like an even bigger dork when Bets adds curtly, “You’re not the first guy she’s used that line on. That’s her way of playing hard to get. She’s a huge tease” She winks at Mark, then smiles smugly at me. Oh, the urge to knock her head off is so strong!”
