My entire life has been a lie: My parents didn't die in a car accident. They're not even dead. I'm not American. I'm not even human. I have strange powers, and I'm the heir to the throne of the planet Emreiana.
If I take the crown, I have to leave behind everything I have known here on Earth. I would have to say goodbye to my friends and leave behind Kyle, the boy I've loved since I was five. If I don't, then I risk the Bremoir finding me here on Earth and destroying everything I love.

Our Review

This is the debut book for this author .I have to say that the author did a fine job introducing us to a whole new world and like-able characters to read about.

This story is about a young girl Carsona who is living with her Aunt who has raised her since her parents death. She is just an average teenager or so we thought.Carson is valedictorian at her school for her senior year and life seems great. She has the handsomest loving and caring boyfriend Kyle who she is just head over heels in love with.Goals to finish and then graduate and then off to College but, after sending out tons of applications she is denied from everywhere and no one seems to wants her. What  gives she has a 4.0 average ?

Carsona life is about to change when she meets up with a man she has only been dreaming about Aaronmon. Her Aunt has to explain to her that she is not human girl at all but, really is the lost princess from a place called Emreiana. She learns her mother and father are not dead just living on a different planet and that Carsona was sent here with her Aunt to be protected from those who wanted to do her harm .Her mother and father were King and Queen of her rightful people.
Can you imagine getting this news ?Carsona struggles to adjust.Things are happening so fast  that she doesn't think she can cope but, will have to the Bremoir and are here to silence her forever.
This is a young adult paranormal romance with a sci fi feel to it.This is something that I do not typically read but, once I started I could not stop.Once the author started describing the planet and its surroundings you were so engrossed it sounded so beautiful and had you falling in love.
I felt so sorry for Carsona her life is suppose to be moving forward instead everything is falling a part around her she feels so alone. With the strain of keeping her secret she breaks up with her boyfriend Kyle who she known since she was five they met at the playground. He was her rock and she feels she has nothing now.She doesn't want to except the things she was told or that she is in line to rule next. Carsona's emotions are all over the place she is Empath and needs to learn to control her abilities that have been laying dormant up until now.She will have to if she wants to live to see where she came from and to meet her parents after all this time.
So much goes on around you in this book.Twists and turns all over the place. So many secrets kept at bay now unfolding.Dealing with emotions and betrayal are hard to swallow.More and More secrets!
Carsona at times got up nerves even though I had a understanding of her a what she had felt about being lied to whole life her constant denial of ever coming back to the life she had was gone yet, she kept talking as if nothing was going to change. My God people where here to kill her and she is seeing all this death and destruction around her and yet the girl is still in denial that she is going to live as a human again.
I normally have a favorite character I like to rave about, fall in love with but, I never connected with anyone character that way.One character my heart did break for and who my heart went out to was Kyle for about what he will be losing the girl he has loved his whole life. But, when problems between them arise he breaks things off with Carsona breaking not only his heart but hers as well .Even though she would have had to eventually break things off with him to keep him safe.I really got pissed with Kyle as I felt that he didn't fight hard enough for there relationship.Up until the invaders came they were both living on cloud nine. The boy did nothing but, tell the girl that he loved her ever other second and now your walking away because things are a little awkward?I stewed about this for a bit but, after reading the sequel to this book I have a better understanding at why he did the things that he did.
This book was pleasure to read so much information to uncover about Carsona's original origins.Learning that there is life on other planets.Learning a new language so that you can communicated with others in your new home.Learning how to master your new abilities that you never new you had.Learning who is trying to kill you and why.Learning that you might find love again in the mist of it all.All the while we were there with Carsona lending our moral support to her and her uncertain future.
A recommended reader to young adult readers.Looking forward to Carsona and Aaronmon's next journey .

Just a year ago, I thought I was an ordinary human, and I gave up everything on Earth to save the people I loved. I have become the Lenai of Emréiana, making me the heir to the Emréian throne. It also makes me in charge of defeating the Bremoir, a race that has been consuming other worlds. If I can’t stop them, the universe is doomed.
Then there is Aaronmon, my betrothed. We have only known each other for a year, but our bond is strong. It’s that bond that makes it hard to know my true feelings. While I think I am ready for the ceremony, I wonder if I really love him like I loved Kyle, my ex- boyfriend who was murdered.
But none of my feelings matter. In order to rule Emréiana, I must go through with the bonding ceremony. If I don’t, then I risk losing the right as heir and I’ll have no power in the war against the Bremoir. Nobody wants them defeated more than me.
Our Review

Another enjoyable read. The author has done another fine job with this tale giving us a couple of big shockers that we never saw coming.
This tale Carsona has left Earth and arrived to the place she was born.We are with her on her journey as she learns to cope with her new surroundings and so forth. Carsona's life is ever changing she has learned that she is the bonded mate of Aaronmon. She is learning to cope with the death of her most beloved Aunt. Carsona seems to be adjusting she is trying to learn everything she can about the people the language and important government issues that will aid her running her country. There are those who are not in favor of her and her ability to rule. But, she is doing everything she can to win them over. She has gotten to know Aaronmon and she has grown to love and care for him.Her head and hear heart don't always agree on the subject as there is something special between the couple. Carsona is not sure that all her feelings are due to the fated bond they share or her own true feelings.Even though she has fallen for him she cannot let go of the love she had once with Kyle. Its been a year and she is still learning and exploring a learning something new every day.
The author again does a beautiful job describing her new home the landscapes plants and wildlife making them seem most intriguing that you would want to visit there to.
One of the most fascinating things is Carsona is still able to communicated with her Earth families if the need arises. This time around we experience more of the sci fi space feel. Carsona has adjusted to her new life made a few friends gotten herself a pet.She constantly aches for the life that could have been with Kyle and living on earth as a human.
We are thrown some whopping shockers in this tale that we never saw coming mixing things up bit yet again.More danger as the plot thickens to make sure that Carsona never ascends to the throne. This time the Bremoir have upped the ante and are using chemical warfare putting Carsona is the position to fight to stay alive.

This was an enchanting tale of a new beginning at a new life and love.We see a sweet courtship developed between Aaronmon and Carsona. We see the strain of that courtship of the bonded couple .The bond enhances all the feelings.Just being near one another you feel either might be about to go up in flames.

I can see how much Carsona has grown just within a years time. This time around she did impress me instead of vexing me.We are introduced to some new and old characters once again.I can't say I have just one favorite character.I never made a connection with any of them. That being said its not that I did not find them to be a bit interesting and like-able characters.I just surprises me that this is the second time I have read something from this author and have not fallen in love with any character of theirs. Its put me off kilter and not sure why?Its never happened to me before. But, it still does not deter me for wishing Carsona and Aaronmon a happy ever after or of looking forward to the couples latest adventures.

I am giving this story 5 stars because of the chosen hero of the story that saved Carsona's life. And also because the author left you reeling at the very end of the story .Questions ? What you thought was to come to pass may be so out of reach now with Aaronmon's latest rival for Carsona's affections. The author leaves you trying to decide whether to trust or love or hate the newest hero's arrival.Learning about this mystery man makes you question everything he has done as we learned he kept some whopping secrets.Sins of the father are not sins of the son so I will base my opinion of him on his good deeds to come.

Recommend read to young adult readers.Looking for a light paced intriguing read this is a tale for you.

1. ) My mouth soured, and I leaned over the side of the bed to allow my stomach to regurgitate. A warm copper taste filled my mouth. I looked down and saw red. The taste of blood lingered on my tongue—the final stage in the virus. I spit out the remaining blood, and I heard frantic voices around me. They knew it, too. My stomach ached; the rest of my body as well. I kept my eyes closed; the light in the room made my head pound even more. It was worse now than it had been earlier; every throb felt heavy and loud. The pain was building up, and I was sure that my skull could not hold the pressure.

My body’s strength was lost, and I struggled to fight sleep. If I closed my eyes, would I wake up? I wanted to resist, but my body had no strength. My eyes drifted, and I took in the darkness, afraid to meet what awaited me there.

2.)

A large rock soared through the sky. Around it was an aurora of white and purple. I held my breath and admired its beauty as it slowly passed the window.
“It’s Emréiana’s comet,” Aaronmon told me. “It only passes by once every nineteen years. The last time someone truly magnificent was born.”
I cocked my head, confused. I soon realized his meaning. “Me,” I whispered under my breath. With everything that had been going on I had completely forgotten that I even had a birthday. Of course the Emréian calender was different from Earth’s. I didn’t even realize it was already August there.
“As you know, we don’t celebrate birthdays the same way here. So it wasn’t hard to sneak it past you.” Aaronmon smiled. In Emréiana they didn’t celebrate annual birthdays. New Year was when people actually counted their new age. The only birthday type of celebration was during the third Hurmon moon when they had the nilva festivities. That was when those who had grown into their abilities received their tattoos. Mine was celebrated on Earth before I came to Emréiana, but the community of Inae gave me another shortly after my arrival. Since I already had a tattoo, I had just participated in everything else, which had been awkward since I spoke very little Emréian at the time. Thinking back on all of that, I still couldn’t believe that I had forgotten my birthday.
Embarrassment radiated from me, and I tried to hold it back so that I wouldn’t send the waves to Aaronmon. I guess it didn’t matter because I could tell by the grin on his face that he knew. My reddened cheeks probably gave me away.
“I know back on Earth individual birthdays were the norm, and I thought that this could be something special between you and me,” he offered.
I smiled at his thoughtfulness and leaned into his chest. “Every year?” I asked.
“Well, the comet only comes every nineteen, so we will have to figure something else out.”
“Deal,” I said.
