When Danielle climbs in his truck, he assumes she’s in a hurry to get to her wedding; he didn’t realize she was escaping one. He agrees to let her return to his apartment so she can call for help, only she refuses to leave. As the days pass, Jeremy finds it harder to fight off her passes and claims of falling in love with him. Besides having almost ten years on her, Jeremy discovers the family secret she had been trying to hide. How could the daughter of a billionaire settle for a plumber living paycheck to paycheck? Despite every tactic her father throws at her and an ex-fiancé who refuses to let her go, Dani stakes her claim to the only thing she has ever truly wanted in her life and fights to make Jeremy hers.

 About the Author- Bio:

Wife, Mother, Writer, Lunatic. Not necessarily in that order. "There is a fine line between genius and crazy... I like to use that line as a jump rope!" June, who prefers to go by Bug, was born in Philadelphia but moved to Maui, Hawaii when she was four. She met her “Prince Charming” on Kauai and is currently living “Happily Ever After” on a hobby farm in a small town in Southern Minnesota. She enjoys riding her Paint horse, Ringo, around the small ghost town they are playfully reestablishing with the neighbors and playing in Photoshop. Her son and daughter are her greatest accomplishments. She takes pride in embarrassing them every chance she gets. Being hopelessly addicted to 80's music is her super power.

Author Interview

What would you have done differently if you were the main character of your book?

There isn’t anything I could do differently. I always AM the main character in my books. They all have that feisty attitude that stems from my Irish temper. Ok, Dani is loaded & I always wanted to know what that was like, so she was a lot of fun to write.

What was your inspiration behind this book?

The whole book came from a single scene that kept playing out in my head about me slamming on my brakes to avoid hitting someone. That never happened - it just kept popping into my head, so I decided to write it out. Suddenly the person was in a wedding dress & the rest played out from there. I honestly don’t know how getting from A-Z happened here, but I loved it every step of the way.

Why did you become a writer ?

I only do what the voices in my head tell me to. *wink* Seriously, I have been told since the 3rd grade I would be one, it just took life settling down for it to actually happen. I never had notebooks full of stores or ideas, I have just always started with a single idea & run from there. The responses from my readers is what keeps me going.

As a reader and writer I think it is important to get to know your fans and make a connection with them as an author who takes the extra step to hear what their fans think and want in their continued writing is continued success and key to selling more books .Do you agree with that ?

Totally. I always encourage interaction with my readers. I love to hear from them & will always respond to messages. I get a lot of e-mails about one book in particular, Come and Talk to Me. Other than that, I get Facebook & Goodreads messages rather steadily. I love to have a personal connection with readers. That’s what makes this all worth it. I have written 2 sequels because of interaction & requests. LOL.

Do you have a favorite author or authors?

Two Minnesota authors, John Sandford & William Kent Krueger, are my favorite authors.

Do you like to write your books in a continuing series ?

I have 2 published sets of books that are 2 books in a series – the rest are stand alone. I do have a romance series that is yet to be released that is another 2 books, but I’m not sure when that will get into the lineup. Right now, I am trying to concentrate on a romantic thriller series. #1 is scheduled for a November release – I’m currently writing #2.

If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why?

I have dated them all from my books. In one way or another, they are my hubby! I’ve had the Coastie, the cop, & the computer geek! Write whatcha know! ;)

What kinds of books do you like to read in your spare time ?

Besides the 2 authors mentioned, I read books by friends in either my writing forum or my publishing groups. It’s funny that my books always steer towards romance, I don’t read any. I read every other genre & of course love some romantic element thrown in. (Heck – Wreck It Ralph had romantic element. It’s kinda hard to miss!) I never get to be involved in book discussions; I’m never reading what the rest of the planet seems to be reading, but that’s ok. I’m never let down!

Do you cry  when writing sad scenes?

For sure. I very much live out the scenes I write. Even when I’m editing & know what’s coming, certain scenes get to me. One book, I had the female so mad, she bought a pack of cigarettes. She wasn’t a smoker (& I’m not either) but we smoked together through it!

Did you have a Cover Designer ?

Each publishing house assigns a cover artist. I have always been thrilled with mine. My last books, my daughter was allowed to work her magic. She is the illustrator for my middle grade series (written as Ann T Bugg) so I was thrilled when I could bring her on for my women’s fiction as well.

Who is your fictional boyfriend or girlfriend crush ?

Gah! I love all my men. Correction, I love all men. I have a few of my favorite movie hunks on my “about me” page on my website. It’s updated often!

If you were able to dine and have a one on one with your favorite writer/author who would it be ?

John Sandford. I saw him speak & would love to have gotten more one on one time. I’d handed him his book to sign for me with the requested post-it. I wrote “to my #1 fan.” He wrote “to my 912th fan.” I still need to kick his butt for that. :D

Do just re-read your favorite books ?

I have so many on my pile – I don’t have the luxury of re-reading anything. Even after mine are done & in print – I don’t re-read them. I’ve probably read them 50 times but the time the process is over with.

Do you ever get in a reading slump like your readers do ?

I read every night in bed before I fall asleep. It’s usually just an hour, but I need that nightly escape. I never edit from my bed – I have my nose in someone else’s story.

What is the funniest book you ever read ?

Fated by S.G. Browne. I was cracking up the whole time.

Excerpt

“Exactly who the hell are you, Dani? Paris Hilton?”
She walked to a bench then sat down. “We’re doing this sooner than I hoped.”
“What’s your last name?”
Again she sighed. “Houseman.”
“You’re shitting me.”
“I wish I was.”
Jeremy sat down, afraid his knees would give away. “You’re… your dad is… Dani that’s…” He couldn’t form a proper sentence and opted to shut up.
“That’s pretty much how everyone reacts. It was nice while it lasted.” She went to stand up, but he held her hand and pulled her back down.
“First of all, nothing about this was nice, so cut the crap. You pretty much kidnapped and raped me… twice on that second one.”
She managed a giggle.
“I’m sorry I was a stammering idiot. I guess I’ve never been in the presence of a billionairess before. My humble plumbing and heating ass feels a little put to shame.”
She rested her cheek to his chest; he wrapped an arm around her. “I liked that you liked me for me, not who I was.”
“I don’t like you. What are you talking about?”
She gave him a playful slap on his chest. “You were starting to like me. Admit it.”
“Maybe I finally got to where I could tolerate your two a.m. jumpings.”
Again she laughed. “What Blake and I had was practically a medieval arranged marriage. His family is even more loaded than mine. I didn’t date much before him because I was always under lock and key. I was damn lucky I didn’t have a chastity belt put on me. If I was out with family without him, everyone swooned over me like a trophy. They wanted to date me because of who I was.”
“Don’t sell yourself short. You’re gorgeous.”
“You never said you like the way I look.”
“Am I dead? Come on, Dani. You have to know how beautiful you are.”
“I don’t think anyone has told me that – not anyone who didn’t want something from me, anyway.”
“Well then, I guess you can take my compliment off your list of firsts.”
“Why? You don’t want anything from me.”
“I wouldn’t go that far.” He moved her off his chest and stood up.
She followed him up. “You do like me. I knew it!”
“You are certifiable – a total nut job, one of the pickiest eaters I have ever known… but you drive me crazy.” She tiptoed up to wrap her arms around his neck, but he stopped her and held her by the wrists. “Nothing has changed, Dani. No, wait. In fact is has. It’s worse. We are even more of a mismatch than we’ve ever been. I’m still too old for you and you still need to wake up and quit your pouting. I knew I should have stuck to my guns about us. Nothing good is going to come to me for falling for you. There’s no way your family will tolerate anything less than this Blake.”
