The Duke Is Mine (Fairy Tales #3)
by Eloisa James

5 out of 5 stars

Destiny will be decided between the sheets in this all-new tale of "The Princess and the Pea."

For Olivia Lytton, betrothal to the Duke of Canterwick--hardly a Prince Charming--feels more like a curse than a happily-ever-after. At least his noble status will help her sister, Georgiana, secure an engagement with the brooding, handsome Tarquin, Duke of Sconce, a perfect match for her in every way . . . every way but one. Tarquin has fallen in love with Olivia.

Quin never puts passion before reason. And reason says that Georgiana is his ideal bride. But the sensual, fiery, strong-willed Olivia ignites an unknown longing in him-- a desire they are both powerless to resist. When a scandalous affair begins, they risk losing everything--Olivia's engagement, her sister's friendship, and their own fragile love. Only one thing can save them--and it awaits in the bedroom, where a magnificent mattress holds life-changing answers to the greatest romantic riddle of all.

My Thoughts and Review

Olivia and her sister join as house party for the Duke of scone being given by his mother in the hopes f securing a bride for her son. She has chosen these ladies with care and is testing them to see who would be the best candidate for he son . The promising one is Georgina has has all the common interests with Tarquin on a academic level but its her sister who ignite the flames in him . Tarquin and Olivia start out as friends but, something changes for these two and the feeling just won't go away. There are two problems her Olivia is is expected to marry a man who is gone off to war and Georgina is a selected bride for the Duke. Either party does not want to cause pain to the parties involved and don't want to disappoint the people in there lives let alone hurt them. They have to choose weather to risk there love or not but one thing is for sure Tarquin will marry the one he loves or no one at all !

This was a cute fun and quick read. The personality of Olivia was engrossing and entertaining and quite humorous at times drawing you in and at that same time you feel her constant pain in the choices she needs to make for her concerned future for both her and her Duke. But, no matter what she sicks by her promised even to the very end rising her life to do whats right by her intended and while doing so gets stolen as whisked away to a brothel. Will the love for her Duke save her and will Tarquin find the one he was destined to love...The characters in this book for delightful making it a great read !

Explosive Eighteen (Stephanie Plum #18) by Janet Evanovich

Explosive Eighteen

  (Stephanie Plum #18)

3.68 of 5 stars

Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum’s life is set to blow sky high when international murder hits dangerously close to home, in this dynamite novel by Janet Evanovich.

Before Stephanie can even step foot off Flight 127 from Hawaii to Newark, she’s knee deep in trouble. Her dream vacation turned into a nightmare, she’s flying back to New Jersey solo, and someone who sounds like Sasquatch is snoring in row 22. Worse still, her seat mate never returned to the plane after the L.A. layover. Now he’s dead, in a garbage can, waiting for curbside pickup. His killer could be anyone. The FBI, the fake FBI, and guns-for-hire are all looking for a photograph the dead man was supposed to be carrying.

Only one other person has seen the missing photograph—Stephanie Plum. Now she’s the target, and she doesn’t intend to end up in a garbage can. With the help of an FBI sketch artist Stephanie re-creates the person in the photo. Unfortunately the first sketch turns out to look like Tom Cruise, and the second sketch like Ashton Kutcher. Until Stephanie can improve her descriptive skills, she’ll need to watch her back.

Over at the Bail Bonds Agency it’s business as usual—until the bonds bus serving as Vinnie’s temporary HQ goes up in smoke, Stephanie’s wheel man, Lula, falls in love with their “largest” FTA yet, lifetime arch nemesis Joyce Barnhardt moves into Stephanie’s apartment, and everyone wants to know what happened in Hawaii?!

Morelli, Trenton’s hottest cop, isn’t talking about Hawaii. Ranger, the man of mystery, isn’t talking about Hawaii.  And all Stephanie is willing to say about her Hawaiian vacation is . . . It’s complicated.

My Thoughts and Review

I just love Stephanie Plum. After reading some other reviews I am saying to myself did you read the same book I did ? I though this was a light fun read . The book had me laughing on and off throughout the whole book. I have so stay this story kind of reminded me of Sookie Stakehouse as these two characters have a lot in common with the things that happen to them being in the wrong place at the wrong time.Such drama wrought with danger.

Stephanies life is i bad shape right now all sorts of mishaps and things are going a rye every day all day long. She. is blaming it on what happen Hawaii.Steph is caught been two very two different hot men and she cannot trust her heart or her emotions on what she truly wants. Why chose enjoy both ! lol. They mystery starts out with a photograph that ends up in Steph;s bag as  she is coming home from her vacation. She thinks she pick it up accidentally and take one look at it and trashes it.But, before you know it all kinds of crazies are after the photo including the FBI.While people are trying to kill her and harm her Stephanie needs to start solving the mystery as to why while doing her job as a bond agent and bring in the nasty ones who skip out on there bond or court dates which seems to be a hard task now that her mojo is off kilter.

I use enjoy these mysteries the are funny to read you love the characters.Steph has two hot men in her life, her best friend is so crazy you never know what is going to come out of her mouth next but, believe be she'll have you laughing while doing it. Steph's grandmother is a hoot and she makes life more interesting for Stephanie and definitely us readers she is so funny in the situations she  gets in to and to her quick whit and funny lines she is always saying just make the stories more enjoyable.I thought it was a page turner that was full of laughs. And I have decided that if Stephanie is off men I will take care of Ranger for her until she back on ! LOL

Recommended read for those who love the Stephanie Plum Series .Be sure to check out the other books in the series they are great to.

Much Ado About Vampires (Dark Ones #9) by Katie MacAlister

Much Ado About Vampires (Dark Ones #9)
by Katie MacAlister

5 out of of 5 stars

Bitter at first bite…

Corazon Ferreira is one heck of a jaded woman. Not only did her husband dump her for a pretty, vivacious blonde, but her sister has lost her mind and married a vampire. Worse, it turns out that Cora herself was a vampire’s mate in a past life…the very same vampire she witnessed killing someone.

If only Cora hadn’t inadvertently been caught up in the ill-laid plans of a reanimated corpse and its master, she could deal with the distractingly gorgeous vampire. But it’s only Alec who stands between her and those who threaten her existence, and there’s only so much temptation a woman can bear before she starts taking her heart as seriously as her head…

Mt Thoughts and Review

Cora was in the wrong place at the wrong time when creatures from a different plane came crashing through her basement wall and some blast ends up sending her to a place called Adaddon where her friend and her are banished to. Something went wrong in that basement and now she is holding a power of the Tool ,that she knows nothing about it or even that she has a new power. There she meets a vampire Alex. She has had dreams of him knowing he murdered and women and that she herself was beheaded that same day in a accident driven by oxen.Still know this she knows that the vampire Alex needs blood in order to live so she revives this handsome vampire which in turn makes her blood go wild and Alex it seems is having the same attraction to Cora.Cora hates vampires even though her sister is married to one. She has had bad experiences in the past and just can't seem to get over her anger.

Cora starts to believe that Alex is there only ticket out of Adaddon . He was banished there to many years ago and this task is not going to be so easy. Even though Cora fights the attraction she knows something is there between the two of them. She is starting to believe she was his beloved in another life. There adventure is not going to be and easy one . There adventure is wrought with danger and many obstacles that these two will need to overcome if they want to become one.Not and easy task I might add !

This couple made a fantastic pair. Cora was so funny and witty she had me laughing just about every page I read. And Alex her handsome vampire had a soft heart with protective instincts and you felt his pain so you were rooting for him to get his happily ever after. These two were willing to give there lives for one another so that just tells you about the people who they were and what big hearts .They had to make such willing sacrifices for one another. This was just a page turner filled with mystery danger and adventure all wrapped up in to one from beginning to end. The suspense was killing me ! LOL.This was one of the most funniest books I have read in a long time and that was because Cora didn't realize that Alex could read her projected thoughts and some of those thoughts were just down right sexual that had her blushing at every turn. LOL This cast of characters were delightful!
Cora's sharp whit and tongue just made this more for like able and engaging!

Recommend read to all! What book I have read in this series I have enjoyed so far bur, haven't read them in order or read the all so I am rectifying that I am catching up !

Midnight in Austenland (Austenland #2) by Shannon Hale

Midnight in Austenland

(Austenland #2)

by Shannon Hale

3 out of  5 stars

When Charlotte Kinder treats herself to a two-week vacation at Austenland, she happily leaves behind her ex-husband and his delightful new wife, her ever-grateful children, and all the rest of her real life in America. She dons a bonnet and stays at a country manor house that provides an immersive Austen experience, complete with gentleman actors who cater to the guests' Austen fantasies.

Everyone at Pembrook Park is playing a role, but increasingly, Charlotte isn't sure where roles end and reality begins. And as the parlor games turn a little bit menacing, she finds she needs more than a good corset to keep herself safe. Is the brooding Mr. Mallery as sinister as he seems? What is Miss Gardenside's mysterious ailment? Was that an actual dead body in the secret attic room? And-perhaps of the most lasting importance-could the stirrings in Charlotte's heart be a sign of real-life love?

The follow-up to reader favorite Austenland provides the same perfectly plotted pleasures, with a feisty new heroine, plenty of fresh and frightening twists, and the possibility of a romance that might just go beyond the proper bounds of Austen's world. How could it not turn out right in the end?

My Thoughts and Review

The except of this book drew me to this book. I am an Austen fan as it is so anything touching on the subject I love to read and pick up.Charlotte in general is a very tough don't mess around with me gal but, her recent divorce has kind of left her in a slump. She recently starts to read Jane Austen in her free time and falls in love with her books.

Her kids are off and staying with her ex-husband for a couple of weeks so she decides to go on a vacation and learns from a travel agency that she can go on vacation in England and live the life of Jane Austin for two weeks in total customs and living in that same time period.Once there the vacations and giving new names on there rolls while there. This retreat even provides a love interest for the ladies.

One of the rolls they have to complete is to solve a murder and expose and killer. They are given daily clue to uncover the evidence and given hints to find the murdering culprit. The more Charlotte uncovers the truths she is starting to believe there is a real murder around and not just a fake one !

This book was a enjoyable read.found it to be something different for a change. The cast members were intriguing , some very handsome and others just plain endearing.I think this was just what Charlotte needed to get back on track. Loved her most of all out of the characters.Liked the plot of a weekend getaway living like Jane Austin , I think it would be cool to do something like that in reality. The only complaint I have about this story was that it was very slow paced.I guess I was just looking for more fun and play fullness from the characters and the plot itself. But, other than that enjoyed the book.
