This was a phenomenally entertaining paranormal read. Xakara has managed to create a completely in depth world, with rules, laws, and of course characters that you wouldn't normally find in an erotic romance novel or novella. I sincerely hope she decides to expand on this world as there are so many secondary characters I met that I would love to see settle down with one or more mates.

Kryssa Drake is a Dragon Shifter (pure blooded) from an old family. Her last boyfriend (two years ago) asked her to marry him but he ended up hurting her far worse than anyone thought (can't spoil that plot line).  She's decided to focus on her career and gave herself five years to get to a point where she can take a sabbatical around the world. Turns out twenty-plus hour work days help put her a couple years ahead of schedule, but she still has no desire to date.

Xander Luciano has been having lunch with Kryssa for two years. He's not only in love with her, but also with his flighty "itchy footed" lover Caleb.  Kryssa seems to enjoy living vicariously through Xander and Caleb and genuinely loves them both, but Caleb has a secret (a good one!) and is ready to settle down. Now he only needs Xander to realize Caleb won't hurt him again, and Kryssa to realize that the two of them are exactly what she needs.

This was a hot book.  I loved that all of the characters were so detailed and fully fleshed out.  I could see each clearly and loved them for all their traits, both good and bad.  Xakara did a great job creating extremely hot scenes and the ending was beautiful and left it open for discussion... Nope, not telling you what that means! I highly recommend A Way to a Dragon's Heart and any future Therian World novels.
