About book

For Emily Parkington, the thrill of flying charter planes for Praxis Air has lately been tinged with dread. Mysterious cargo flights and a high number of fatal crashes lead Emily to suspect something sinister behind the scenes. And if her new colleague is involved, Emily won't hesitate to turn him in, in spite of Sam Archer's sexy charm and irresistibly easy confidence. Enemy or potential ally? Sam can't be sure of anything where Emily is concerned, except how much he wants her. Immune to the zombie virus created through military research, Sam is working undercover to find out if Praxis is trafficking forbidden technology. It was a potentially deadly assignment even before he found himself distracted by a woman he scarcely knows. And when a 'controlled' experiment goes horribly wrong, there will be no limit to the danger they both face...or how far he's willing to go to save her...

My Thoughts...

My first book by this author and it was very enjoyable.I related with the characters and I thought that the book was very funny.I kept laughing at the quick whit of Emily her humor was invigorating. Sam was not hard on the eyes either sexy a charming x-Green Beret. Emily is a pilot and sees unusual things happen with the cargo she is transporting. The death of two pilots lead her to confront Scott--but later that day, she almost dies when the brakes in her car fail. This potentially fatal "accident," on top of the shady activities, leads Emily to conduct her own search for the cause of this strange behavior...in secret. So when Sam is brought on as the new pilot for the airline, she is of course wary of his involvement, but instantly attracted to him as well.Sam is called in to investigate going under cover as a temporary pilot he is also has secrets of his own.He is ex military an already knows what is going on behind the scenes he just needs to prove it now. The are transporting zombies and experiment gone wrong and the equipment to funds such and operation to make more zombies. It isn't until she comes face to face with a walking corpse that she realizes the extent and the horror of what is going on around her.She needs to join forces with Sam and her brother who is home on leave from the air force to put a stop to this injustice. While on this mission her feeling blossom for Sam and they are in involved in a hot a heavy affair for the moment but, Sam is dreaming for hoping this will last beyond the mission but, he has his doubts once Emily learns his secret .This was a witty, fast-paced novel and I thought wonderfully well written. With all there challenges Sam and Emily faced  along there wild a crazy adventure with fighting a deadly disease where they could die at any moment they found each in passion and in love..This book did not lack passion, or heat,or suspense and was full with humor a recommended read to all...

Desire and Fate Part 1 Short Story but Beth Wright

This is an e-book short story available through Smashwords
5 stars

About the book:
A large group of warships have been stranded on a different planet. They have managed to create their own human base by using the ships as homes. What they did not realize is that they are not alone. The natives of this world have been watching them since they arrived. Hanna and her husband Sam find theirselves trapped by an unexpected attacked upon their base. Half-human and half-dragon beings bring fear and death to their little home putting Hanna in a position she never expected to be in. Now held captive by the evil beast that killed her husband she wonders if they will eventually kill her. Over time she starts to have feelings for their leader Ozonar, who has always dreamed of making her his from the moment he first saw her. Fighting her feelings for her dead husband and the changing feelings for the wild, evil, surprisingly sweet beast she finds herself lost and confused. Will she eventually give in to her feelings for Ozonar or will she continue to fight them? What does her future hold for her now?

My Thoughts...
Wow action packed from the beginning.Half-human and half-dragon beings invade a village and wipe out them all except Hannah.Ozonar there leader has always wanted Hannah as he watched her from afar. He planned on this human girl being is True and final life-mate.No plan goes as planned all those people were not suppose to die and to top it off they just killed her husband. There is a lot of resentment built up with others the clan. Danger lurks there as Ozonar will need to protect her form the others and from the jealousies of the women of that clan.He is the chief and what he says goes anyone tries to harm her and they will be killed no questions asked. He means it!For such a short story there was a lot packed into it and I was sorry to see it end.It was a different twist to come up with the have dragon half human characters as I love Dragons in was in from the start. The hardened warrior was deadly but, yet sweet and protective to Hannah. Ozonar son welcomed his mate with open arms.At least she has someone on her side. There journey is not going to be an easy one but, I am definitely in for the long haul to see what happens. Can't wait!

3 out of 5 stars

A tale of vengeance, true love, and cannibalism.

Being born undead can have its disadvantages, such as eternal youth and flawless beauty; things most unsuitable for a witch. Hiding behind the guise of a grimy old crone, the witch is content living outside Fort Stalwart with her unlikely band of allies: a troll named Gwurm, an enchanted broom, and a demonic duck ...more

A Nameless Witch

My Thoughts....

The Nameless Witch is a quirky, comic, fantasy about a witch cursed with eternal beauty and a cannibalistic appetite who undertakes a quest to destroy an evil sorcerer and save a town. This clever story opens with the nameless witch living locked in a basement until she is eighteen years old because of her "undead" curse, but is rescued by Ghastly Edna, who becomes her witch mentor. This book had an amusing cast of characters including Newt, a wisecracking demon duck familiar with killer instincts, a troll named Gwurm with interchangeable body parts, Wyst of the West, a White Knight sworn to a vow of chastity, and Penelope the animated broom.he Nameless Witch journeys to Fort Stalwart with Edna's familiar Newt on a quest to avenge her mentor's death, adopting a troll named Gwurm along the way and meeting the handsome White knight.I loved the witch and her emotional and moral struggles. She was so falling for the White Knight knowing his vow of chastity.Love the banter between her duck familiar, Newt, and Gwurm the troll it was very funny at times. The quest is hers to fulfill to right a wrong (Edna's death)but, also to realize the extent of her full abilities to take down the evil sorcerer. It seems that Edna has been grooming this nameless witch her whole life for this one fight.Being sheltered her whole life she has now found someone to love her the White knight. The White knows he will lose his powers if he ever acts on those feeling he is beginning to feel for the nameless witch and she knows this but, can't seem to help her self. The passion flares between them but, there is nothing but heartache ahead for both of them. This cast of odd characters give you quite a few laughs as they journey to battle and engage in other smaller battles along there way leading to the winner take all one.A different kind of fantasy tale .This story was not the kind of plot I am used to reading but, it was different and refreshing for a change to try something new.The nameless witch makes the ultimate sacrifice that is heart-wrenching to see , you feel her pain. She's lead a lonely life and I for one was rooting for her happiness.Light fresh teen /young adult read which gave me quite a few chuckles along the adventure of this hodgepodge cast.

Jamie is an indentured servant(do to the war ) and working for a Lord in England when Greys brother Hal the Duke has him brought to him in secret as he has a mission he wants him to accomplish with his brother uncovering a traitorous spy bringing him to justice.Working together is going to be very uncomfortable for both men. Grey has feelings for Jamie and Jamie knows it but, chooses to ignore them.Jamie is between a rock and a hard place and cannot say no. They own him at this point and he has no choice but to help. A Scotsman and a Lord in his own right living among the hated English with torn loyalties. Missing his wife and child Claire who he sent through the stones before the war.A son he has but, can't claim as his own ways upon his mind. He an Grey start there adventure wrought with danger and intrigue. No only do they have to dodge bullets but Jamie needs to watch Grey back carefully as someone is out to serious hurt him and his family. Learning to like one another and perhaps form a friendship and work together to catch the spy bring him to justice. But,that easier said then done. Nothing goes as planned as we all no with missions. Cynthia Eden delves into the dark realms of the Others, where desires and dangerous games await the unsuspecting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Assistant DA Erin Jerome has a secret. Make that two. One: She’s not entirely human–she’s Other, desperately trying to keep her supernatural strength under wraps. Two: she’s got a killer stalking her–an Other rogue set on “gifting” her bloody corpses, not to mention nights lying awake in terror. Small wonder she’s been having bad luck with men.

But the bounty hunter on her new case isn’t worried about any of that. Jude Donovan is a shapeshifter himself, and the new DA’s midnight hair and addictive scent tell him all he thinks he needs to know: She’s gorgeous, she’s definitely not human, and she’s bringing out the animal in him in a really good way. Powerfully sensual and potently erotic, the Chanku are an exotic race of shape shifters. Their intent is never to harm, only to delight in one another's sexual passion and pleasure. But someone or something is out to hurt them, and after attacks against all three packs across the country, all targeted at women and children, Anton Cheval calls the Chanku home to find out who is orchestrating these assaults - and to stop them. But as the Chanku come together to defend themselves, something even more unexpected happens. The combined energy of so many libidinous shape shifters creates an orgy of uncontrollable desire. Now Anton wonders if the Chanku's powers of seduction have merely increased in the presence of so many of their kind, or whether they have discovered an important and unexpected legacy from their mystical and mysterious past..

My Thoughts...

Enjoyed the story .It was face paced read it in a few hours. I like how all the clan members joined together in a crisis how the love one another and protect each other. Someone was after the new babies in this one and they all rallied to take out they hunters hunting them. I will say though reading this book I was a little lost with new characters in this book I don't know where they came from and how they met. It is important to read the anthologies about this series this way you kept up with the characters and there mates.( Amoung with series) (other books list on my blog on the way the books were written and should be read ) Both clans pulled together to save the children and to save there leader Anton. A few twists and turns along the way and to Adam to finding some newly discovered powers that will definately come in handy in this story. Onto the next one enjoy all !

My Thoughts....

I have to say that I am so loving this series. Just love the characters they are funny witty humorous and some even very dangerous.Glory is just so funny. She kind of reminds me of Charlene Harris's Sookie Stakehouse the trouble she gets into all the time without even looking for it. The situations so gets herself into are pretty funny.Glory is a plus size vampire at least in he mind with an on and off relationship with a sexy Scottish highlander named Blade (Jerry for short)Glory has her hands full this time around. She is in hot water with the counsel and needs to get on there good side. So her fellow vampire Damien suggest she mentor a newly turned vampire. Oh boy does she have her hands full and this young gal she is a scientist with 3 degrees and only in he early twenties. To top it all off the demons are after her again to come work for them and harvest souls for them. They are constantly in her face and going after the people she loves. Glory is in the mist of a love triangle sort of. She constantly has her men around her and it's wreaking havoc on her relationship with Jerry that's on a break right now .This situation creates so many funny scenes that have you laughing your butt off.Glory needs to deal with so many things going on she is a little bit overwhelmed with the demon problem the mentoring a newly turned vampire that didn't want to be turned and making things work with Blade and Ian's new miracle pill allowing you to actually eat a meal she so wants to try out.. Glory's  relationship is so hot a sexy the love scenes are great and have you rooting for them both (her and Blade)to make a go of it and wishing you had your very own Highland Warrior. I love the character's that surround Glory they are a hoot and great friends and her loyalty to them is heartfelt.Gerry carries her characters from one book to the other having Glory interact with them in each story which I so love that. The books was full danger and many humors laughs that had you laughing constantly throughout every page and loving the way things unfold through the story making it a page turner. The book ends with such a surprise ending that I never saw it coming! What a cliff hanger loved it ! Can't wait to the next book. I recommended read for all. This series is great !

When Marty Andrews gets bitten by a mangy mutt while walking her teacup poodle, her blond hair darkens, the hair on her legs starts growing at an alarming rate, and her mood swings put her dream job as a sales rep for Bobbie- Sue Cosmetics in serious jeopardy.

Then a drool-worthy man shows up at her door claiming that he accidentally bit Marty. And since he's a werewolf, she is now, too. Thinking Keegan Flaherty is clearly insane, Marty refuses to believe a word until a kidnapping makes her realize there's more at stake than just her highlights. And she must put her out-of-control life in the hands of the man who makes her blood run wild in more ways than one...

My Thoughts....

What a funny and charming story. This story was upbeat and very funny from beginning to the end read this book in a couple of hours. Marty Andrews is out walking her poodle when she encounters another dog along they way and ends up bitten. She starts going through all kinds of hormonal changes , mood swings, and all of a sudden she is having to shave her legs 2 times a day. But help is on the way when Keegan Flaherty shows up to her door telling her that he is the one who bit her but it was a accident and by doing so her has now turned her into a werewolf. From the acclaimed author of Charmed & Dangerous comes a sassy new paranormal romance about a gorgeous librarian who sees dead people.

BlackWind: Sean and Bronwyn (BlackWind #1)

by Charlotte Boyett-Compo!

http://angelswithattitudebookreviews-joe...

Blush: This is a suggestive romance (love scenes are not graphic) Book one in a two-book saga.Sean and Bronwyn have loved one another since grammar school. Believing Sean isn't good enough for their child, Bronwyn's parents will do everything in their power to keep them apart, including spiriting Bronwyn off to a secluded convent in Ireland. But Sean isn't entirely human. Born of an Earthly mother and implanted with an alien parasite that makes it possible for him to shape-shift into a wolf-like creature, the young man is far more than Bronwyn's parents counted on. Determined to be reunited with the woman he loves, Sean will do what is necessary to have her in his arms once again. From the mists of time and space, another creature lies in wait, eager to steal Bronwyn from Sean. Danyon Hart is a NightWind, an immortal created to aid women in their times of despair. He has heard Bronwyn's lonely cries and has come from the far reaches of the megaverse to claim her.Fighting to get back to one another, the lovers must strive against a brutal evil that is dogging their every footstep.

My Thoughts....

This book was originally published elsewhere under the same title. It was my first time reading Compo's work, and I must say after reading this one, I am now looking into other books of hers. This dark fantasy (meaning a lot of abuse goes on in the beginning toward the son Sean and the mother ) both of them living in hell due to Sean's abusive father Tym. Sean and Bronwyn have loved one another since grammar school. Sean and Bronwyn's agony, passion and romance come steaming off the pages as you read. They pledge there love to one another and know that sometime in the future they will be truly together. Bronwyn parents have a different ideas. They did not want the couple together, saying Sean is no good for her and they will not have him in her life period. They take drastic measures drug her and whisk her off to a convent in Ireland. She is miserable there and so is Sean. He is not giving up !There going to be together. During the split Sean mother kills his father to protect a secret that she has held since Sean was born. Sean's real father enters the picture and explains to Sean about how is mother and him met and why Sean is so different from others. His father holds a secret that was passed onto Sean . The father will need to guide Sean threw about what is to happen. Sean also ends up in Ireland but his life turns in a totally different direction than Bronwyn's. While waiting for Sean to come find her dark forces are working all around her. She finds out she is carrying Sean's child and she is not giving up they are going to be a family. The dark forces continue to plague Bronwyn. Will she be lost to the dark forces will Sean find her. A lot of twist and turns from here on out and what a surprise cliffhanger the ending this turns  out to be. I was not expecting that...

Haunted by dreams of a lover who takes the form of a dragon, Eileen Grosvenor searches for the truth. She never expects to find a real dragon shape shifter, let alone one who awakens her passion and ignites memories of a forgotten past.

Erik Sorensson is focused on leading the Pyr against the Slayers when a powerful ancient relic reveals itself. Erik tries to retrieve it from Eileen's possession—and is shocked by a fury of passion. Her presence touches him in unexpected ways, reminding him of mistakes he's determined not to make again, and Erik is forced to make a choice of duty or love.

Lynn  never ceases to amaze me with her books. Enjoyed this story very much. Her series has been amazing really. Like the fact that all the character intertwine in all her books. The best parts for me were at every turn Zach kept being amazed himself as to all those people who were time travelers weather from the past or the present and not even realizing it made me laugh with the shock he got  from meeting people from the future living in the past and vice- versa.Loved Zach and Mary's story, laugh's at every turn.

Acheron (Dark-Hunter #15)

by Sherrilyn Kenyon

http://angelswithattitudebookreviews-joe/...

5 stars read

The most anticipated story in the blockbuster Dark-Hunter series. The never-before-revealed story of the Dark-Hunter leader, Acheron. He was made human in order to escape death, but in death he was reborn a god. . .

Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. However, his human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind.

Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he’ll do anything to keep concealed. Until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.

Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both.

War has never been more deadly... or more fun.

My Thoughts....

Definitely one of my favorite books in this series. What a sad tale. The pain of Acheron life was almost unbearable to read. Though painful it shaped the man he had become.Although is seems impossible for him to survive it all he found true love after all and has found a loving partner to brave his unknown future with his wife and loving friends. This was an very anticipated story for me always wondering of Ash's tale but
never expected this and was not disappointed. Ms. Kenyon is a fabulous story writer and i loved each and everyone of her dark hunter tales.

She's a Witch Girl

by Kelly McClymer

4 stars

Prudence Stewart is FINALLY getting her witch on at Agatha's Day School. Sadly, her love life isn't quite so charmed. Boy trouble is lurking, big-time:

• First, there's Angelo, Pru's adorable crush-next-door. When he shows up at Agatha's, it spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E for Pru. Especially when it comes to...

• Samuel, Pru's best bud and tutor in all things magical. For Angelo and Samuel, it was loathe at first sight.

• And then there's Daniel, the bad boy with wicked talent -- who also happensto be the great-great-great-great-grandson of Pru's nemesis, Agatha herself.

With all this boy drama, it's all Pru can do to prep for the national cheerleading competition -- the one that will bring her broomstick-to-spirit-stick with her former squad AND her boy-stealing ex-BFF.

A little magic just might come in handy right now....

My Thoughts

A cute fun read. The book is pretty much like the movie Bring it on movie but, in witch mode. Story takes place with a girl in high school going to and all witch school who is on the cheer-leading team. They want to do away with the cheerleaders and just have the sports so she goes on to campaign to win the right to keep cheering. She , is hoping that is she does that the she can convenience them to enter a cheer competition. The have strict rules on mixing with mortals. Her love interest has a secret that is revealed and the mystery of it all unravels and she helps her pal learn his witch(y) abilities. This book was rated for a Teen but, I found it to be for the much younger kids.

Most of what went on in this book was figuring how to out mover the counsel and get them to do it her way. But, she needs to be sneaky to win .She lives and  breaths cheering so she not ready to give up even if she has to break the rules and spy on her competitor's.

Not Quite a Husband by Sherry Thomas

Not Quite a Husband
by Sherry Thomas

3 stars

Sherry Thomas is one of the hottest new voices in historical romance, garnering the highest praise from today’s bestselling writers (“Entrancing.” —Mary Balogh; “Ravishingly sinful, intelligent and addictive.” —Eloisa James). Now Sherry delivers this powerful story of a remarkable woman and the love she thought she'd never find—with the man she thought she’d lost forever.…

Their marriage lasted only slightly longer than the honeymoon—to no one's surprise, not even Bryony Asquith’s. A man as talented, handsome, and sought after by society as Leo Marsden couldn't possibly want to spend his entire life with a woman who rebelled against propriety by becoming a doctor. Why, then, three years after their annulment and half a world away, does he track her down at her clinic in the remotest corner of India?

Leo has no reason to think Bryony could ever forgive him for the way he treated her, but he won’t rest until he’s delivered an urgent message from her sister—and fulfilled his duty by escorting her safely back to England. But as they risk their lives for each other on the journey home, will the biggest danger be the treacherous war around them—or their rekindling passion?

My Thoughts...

What do think Well I have mix feelings about this book. This was an okay read but, could have been so much better. Not much going on plot in this book and I am okay with that in a book but, over all this book was just plan boring. No excitement to get to the next page.I liked the character's over all and the fact the Bryony was a strong women who was a doctor and her husband with similar interest just clerical. Her husband goes on a search around the world to bring back his ex-wife as is father is drying. The two really don't get along so it is up to the ex to convince her to travel and come home with him.

The were really so many lose ends to why they actually broke up. It seemed that no matter the time that went by there still loved one another. To many things seem to lean toward the cause of the break up but, not one that was forth getting divorced over and not fighting to stay together especially in that time period when people were ostracized  .The two hit a bumpy road on the way home and they now need to fight to stay alive, They tried and find a love lost and hope for a future. I  absolutely hated the ending. Quick and to the point . Not the ah feeling we all want to feel and the end of the book that puts a smile on your face.

This author is a first for me. Picked this book up for two reasons the cover drew me and also the interest plot. There was so much going on in this book that I and mixed feeling at first about whether I was going to like it or not.I think now that my mixed feeling came from the fact that perhaps I was a little lost. This was the second book in the series and a lot went on in the first book that overflowed into this book. The concept of the being all kinds of workers that messed with you mind to being able to kill you and turn you into an object was fascinating.Cassel has so much going on in his life you feel a bit sorry for him. His mother has him involved with a con. He ex-girlfriend comes back from the dead and has been spelled to love him. The beginning of a new school term has been difficult to juggle and among other things and his brother turns up dead putting pressure on him to find out who the killer is because, if he doesn't help mommie dearest is going to jail. The feds are black-mailing him.Having to deal with his mom and brother and other workers becomes a little bit overwhelming for him so he enlist a help of a friend to remove the curse from Lalia the ex so he has one less thing to deal with.Trying to put off the government as much as he can he hatches a plan to frame someone else for the murder of his brother until he can find the real killer. With the help of friends a plan is put in place and the adventure begins. But, when it was all said and done the ending was so surprising that I never even saw that ending coming.Tons of action going on from the beginning to the end of the book .The author took you on such a joy ride. The things that you learned that came to light were so surprising and others a little hard to take. But, what kills us makes us stronger ? Right?Cassell adventure is still not over....
